Nikkhil Suresh Advani (born April 28, 1971) is a talented Indian director, producer, and screenwriter. He creates movies and shows for Hindi cinema, also known as Bollywood. Nikkhil Advani started a company called Emmay Entertainment with his sister, Monisha Advani, and Madhu Bhojwani.

Early Life and Family Background
Nikkhil Advani grew up in Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra, India. His family is Sindhi Hindu. His father worked in big companies that made chemicals and medicines. His mother worked in advertising. His father is Sindhi, and his mother is Maharashtrian.
He went to Green Lawns High School and later earned a Master's in chemistry from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. He married his college friend, Suparna Gupta. They have a daughter named Keya. Nikkhil Advani is also related to famous film people. He is the grand-nephew of producer N. N. Sippy. He is also a second cousin to actor Tusshar Kapoor and producer Ekta Kapoor.
Nikkhil Advani's Film Journey
Nikkhil Advani has worked in films for over twenty-five years. He started by helping directors like Saeed Mirza and Kundan Shah. Later, he worked with Dharma Productions, a company started by Yash Johar.
Starting as an Assistant Director
Advani began his career helping direct Naya Nukkad in 1994. He also helped write the movie Iss Raat Ki Subah Nahin in 1996, which critics liked. He was an assistant director for Karan Johar's first two films: Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001). Nikkhil Advani even had a small acting part in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He also assisted Aditya Chopra on the film Mohabbatein (2000).
Directing His First Big Film
Nikkhil Advani directed his first movie, Kal Ho Naa Ho, in 2003. This was a romantic comedy-drama film. It starred famous actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta. The movie was very popular and earned a lot of money. It was the highest-grossing Indian film that year. The film explored themes like Indians living abroad and different kinds of friendships. It won many awards, including two National Film Awards and eight Filmfare Awards.
More Directorial Successes
In 2007, Advani directed and co-wrote Salaam-e-Ishq. This romantic drama film had many stars, including Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra. It told six different love stories that were connected.
In 2009, he directed Chandni Chowk to China. This was an action comedy film starring Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone. The story was about a vegetable cutter from Delhi who goes on an adventure in China. This film was special because it was the first Hindi film co-produced by Warner Bros.. It was one of the top-earning films in India that year.
Advani also directed Patiala House in 2011. This movie starred Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Akshay Kumar, and Anushka Sharma.
Animation and Production Company
Nikkhil Advani directed Delhi Safari in 2012. This was India's first 3-D animated movie. It taught people about protecting wildlife.

Recent Films as Director and Producer
Under Emmay Entertainment, Nikkhil Advani has produced many successful films. Airlift (2016) was a big hit. It starred Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur. The film was based on the true story of how 170,000 Indians were rescued from Kuwait during a war. Airlift was the first film from Emmay Entertainment to earn over 1 billion rupees. In 2015, Advani directed Katti Batti, a romantic comedy-drama. He also directed Hero (2015), a remake of an old hit film. This movie introduced new actors, Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty.

In 2020, he announced his second web series, Mumbai Diaries 26/11, for Amazon Prime Video. This series was based on the real events of November 26, 2008. It was released in 2021 and became a very popular show on Prime Video.
Short Films
Emmay Entertainment produced the short film Guddu Engineer in 2016. This film was about unity between India and Pakistan. It won awards at the 5th Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival.
In 2020, Amazon Prime Video released Unpaused – Apartment. This was a collection of five short films made during the pandemic. Nikkhil Advani directed one of these, called "Apartment," starring Richa Chadha.
Television Work
Advani produced a TV film for MTV called Shaadi Vaadi And All That. He also directed a TV series for Star Plus called P.O.W.- Bandi Yuddh Ke (2016). This show was based on an Israeli TV series. Many Bollywood stars praised the show's trailer.
Beyond Films: Other Interests
In his free time, Nikkhil Advani works with the Sanctuary Nature Foundation. This group helps with climate change, protecting nature, and saving tigers. He also helps restore old classic films with the Film Heritage Foundation. He is a big fan of soccer and helps promote the Manchester City Football Club in Mumbai.
