A Bit of History
Parc Safari first opened its doors in 1972. Since then, it has grown into a popular destination. Today, it is home to about 500 animals, representing 75 different types of species. Because it's close to the United States, many visitors from there come to enjoy the park too!
Meet the Animals
Get ready to discover a wide variety of animals at Parc Safari. You'll find creatures from different continents, each with their own unique characteristics.
African Animals
Many animals at the park come from Africa. You can spot speedy zebras and giant African elephants. Look out for tall dromedary camels and impressive elands. You might also see powerful rhinos and herds of wildebeest. Don't miss the huge ostriches, majestic lions, and unique Ankole-Watusi cattle with their huge horns. And keep an eye out for the graceful kudu!
Asian Animals
Parc Safari also features many animals from Asia. You can see strong Asiatic water buffalo and massive gaur. Watch out for the powerful tigers and the fluffy Bactrian camel. There are also gentle Asian elephants and shaggy yaks. Plus, you'll find many different kinds of deer roaming around.
Other Cool Creatures
Beyond Africa and Asia, the park has other fascinating animals. You can see mighty bison and shaggy highland cattle. Friendly llamas and cute ponies are also here. Look for small wallabies, curious guanaco, and large elk. You might even hear the howls of wolves!
Explore the Park
Parc Safari offers different ways to experience the animal kingdom. You can drive through some areas or explore others on foot.
The Drive-Thru Safari
One of the most exciting parts of Parc Safari is the drive-thru area. You can stay in your car and drive right through the animal habitats! This lets you get super close to many animals, and sometimes you can even feed them. It's an amazing way to see animals roaming freely.
Walking Adventures
After your drive, you can explore several walking areas. These paths let you see different types of animals and enjoy the park's scenery.
The Elevated Boardwalk
One special walking area is an elevated boardwalk. This pathway is raised above the ground, giving you a safe and fantastic view. From here, you'll mostly see carnivores, like the powerful lions and stealthy tigers. It's a great spot for taking photos!
Farm of the Five Continents
Another walking area is a wooded section called the "Farm of the Five Continents." This unique farm showcases farm animals from all over the world. You can meet friendly donkeys and tiny miniature horses. You'll also find interesting birds like emus and rheas.
Splash and Play
Parc Safari isn't just about animals; it also has a fun water park! It features a couple of small water slides where you can cool off. There are also fountains for splashing around. The park has a special pool designed like a river, complete with real stones on the bottom, cool fake caves, and even quick rapids! You can float along this "river" on small aquatic devices, making it a perfect way to relax and have fun.
