His grandparents were Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, and the American actress Grace Kelly. Pierre Casiraghi is currently eighth in line to the throne of Monaco. He follows his twin cousins, his mother, his brother Andrea, and his nephews and niece.

Early Life and School

Pierre Casiraghi was born in Monaco. He was named after his great-grandfather, Prince Pierre, and his grandfather, Prince Rainier III. He was also named after his father. His godparents are his uncle, Prince Albert II, and his aunt Laura Sabatini Casiraghi.

Pierre was three years old when his father passed away in a boating accident. After this, he lived with his mother at their farmhouse. This home was in the town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France.

He went to a public school in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Later, his family moved to Fontainebleau after his mother remarried. This move brought them closer to Paris and London. Pierre likely finished his French Baccalaureate exam in 2005. He then started university. A year later, he moved to Milan, Italy. There, he studied international economics and management at Bocconi University. Pierre speaks French, Italian, and English very well. He also knows some German and plays the saxophone.

Helping Others and Business

From January to February 2007, Pierre traveled to Africa with his mother. They visited countries like Niger and South Africa. They went on behalf of AMADE Mondiale, a charity led by his mother.

In June 2009, Pierre became the main owner of Engeco. This is a construction company in Monaco that his father started in 1984. His uncle Marco is still the President of Engeco. Pierre is also the main owner of Monacair, an airline company.

Pierre is part of the Management Committee for the Yacht Club de Monaco. He supported a charity race called "Sail for a Cause." This race raised money for two charities. One helps children around the world get surgeries. The other helps migrants in Chad.

In 2011, Pierre became an honorary member of the Jeune Chambre Economique de Monaco (JCEM). This group helps young business people.

Pierre is the skipper of Team Malizia. This team sails a special boat called a hydrofoil sailboat. They compete in the GC32 Racing Tour every year. Team Malizia is named after Il Malizia, a nickname for Pierre's ancestor François Grimaldi. In 2019, Pierre and Boris Herrmann from Team Malizia helped Greta Thunberg and her father cross the Atlantic Ocean. This allowed Greta to attend a United Nations meeting about climate change.
