A sequel, Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji, came out in 2007. It also aired on Network Ten, Disney Channel Australia, and the CITV Channel in the UK. The show has been seen in many countries, including Vietnam, Spain, and Portugal.

Story of Pirate Islands

This section tells you about the main story of the Pirate Islands TV show. It's split into two parts, just like the adventure itself!

Entering the Game World

The story begins with Kate Redding playing a new computer game. It's called Pirate Islands and her dad created it. Her siblings, Nicholas and Sarah, are also there. Sarah accidentally messes with the computer scanner. Suddenly, lightning strikes the house! The scanner goes wild and zaps all three kids right into the game.

Inside the game, Kate quickly meets Mars. He is the main character of the video game. Soon, the evil pirate captain, Blackheart, captures the siblings. He threatens to make them walk the plank! Mars bravely climbs aboard the pirate ship. He cuts a rope, making the sails fall on the pirates. The siblings escape and try to find their scanner. But the pirates corner them. The scanner falls into Blackheart's hands. He uses it by accident, zapping one of his crew. The pirate turns into pixels and melts away!

Kate soon learns that you can travel between islands using special icons. She jumps into one and lands on Castaway Island. There, she finds Carmen, Blackheart's second-in-command. Carmen has stolen many items from Kate's real-life bedroom! The pirates arrive and chase the group. Sarah trips over a tree trunk. This opens a secret entrance inside the tree! It leads to a hidden treehouse. The kids store their few belongings there. They decide this will be their new home.

Finding Power-Ups and Clues

Kate finds some wet boots in a hidden cabinet in the treehouse. She discovers they are "power-ups" in the game! These boots let characters walk on water. Kate uses them to raid the pirate ship. She finds a treasure map! Blackheart appears and threatens them with the scanner. But Mars knocks it away, and they escape.

Kate is very angry. The next day, she returns with the power-up boots. She takes control of Blackheart's ship! She steals the scanner and escapes. Back at the treehouse, she finds the scanner's batteries are dead. Blackheart used it too many times. Kate is sad. She tells her siblings they will have to stay in the game "a little bit longer."

A new icon takes Kate to Haunted Island. The ghost of Captain Quade lives there. Blackheart murdered Quade because he left the ship to find treasure. Kate almost gets killed but grabs Quade's logbook and escapes. She searches the logbook for clues. Kate realizes her music box has batteries that fit the scanner! But the music box is now with Blackheart. Nicholas finds a second power-up: a jetpack! Kate arranges to meet Blackheart at the beach. She wants to swap the music box for Quade's logbook. But she gets kidnapped! Nicholas saves her with his jetpack. Kate escapes, but Blackheart still has the music box.

Mars raids the pirate ship with a keg. He puts Kate's mobile phone inside. Kate uses it like a walkie-talkie between Blackheart's ship and Captain Quade's ship. She scares the pirates away from the main cabin. Mars enters and steals the music box. He puts it in the keg and throws it into the water. The next day, the keg washes up, but it's empty!

The Game Starts to Break

On Castaway Island, Carmen promises Kate the batteries. But only if Kate gives her the jetpack, power-up boots, and the logbook. Blackheart arrives suspiciously. He wants to destroy Kate for good. Just then, Kate programs the scanner to leave the game. Dugal, Blackheart's second-in-command, rushes in. He unplugs the scanner and grabs it! Kate pushes him over and gets the scanner back. She escapes, leaving Mars about to be killed. Sarah and Nicholas are captured.

Kate returns to the village with the scanner. This time, she has programmed it for destruction! She switches it on and zaps the sky. The computer game begins to tear apart! The village catches fire and is destroyed. Blackheart fights through the storm. He rips the scanner from Kate's hand. He also takes her bag with the logbook. With the scanner now set for destruction, Kate starts to cry. She realizes it's all her fault. She doesn't know what Blackheart will do next.

The Final Hunt for Treasure

Blackheart now has the scanner and the logbook. He finds a clue in the logbook. Holding it to a mirror, he discovers a secret code. It points to a spot on the main island. Kate wants to help her siblings. She boards the pirate ship and finds the code. Kate and Blackheart race to the location. Kate finds a treasure chest with an iron key! Blackheart arrives and steals it. Kate cries, feeling truly defeated.

The next day, Kate starts learning judo. She wants to be able to sword-fight. She uses the jetpack to trick Blackheart. He catches her leg and breaks the jetpack. But Kate uses judo and flips him over! Blackheart drops his sword. Kate grabs it and escapes.

Mars teaches Kate how to sword-fight. He is then banished as the village leader. This is because he didn't help the castaways look for the treasure. Meanwhile, Blackheart finds a hidden area in the cliffs with an iron door. But there is no lock for the key. Carmen orders her crew to search the forest for Kate's treehouse. But Mars stops them. He wins over the castaways and becomes their leader again. Carmen is very angry.

Kate and Mars agree to help each other find the treasure. They promise to split it 50/50. This way, Kate can trade her share for the scanner. Mars sets a trap. Blackheart falls for it, and Kate steals the key! She races to the iron door. A keyhole appears, and she enters, shutting the door before Blackheart can get in. Mars is upset because Kate broke her promise. Inside, Kate finds a wooden floating wheel. As she leaves, Mars grabs it. He tells her they are no longer friends.

Working Together Again

Carmen and Mars take the wheel to Captain Quade. They hope he can tell them what it does. But Quade steals it! Carmen has to go back to Kate for help, even though she's not happy about it. After Kate saves Mars, he tells her he didn't need help. They sword-fight to see who is better. Before a winner is decided, Blackheart arrives. Kate leads him onto the ship. She takes the wheel and leaves a different way.

Blackheart is slowly losing his mind. He takes the scanner to the forest. He turns it on, and Pirate Islands begins to rip apart again! Minutes before the game is destroyed, Kate throws the wheel to Blackheart. She races to the scanner and switches it off. But Blackheart beats her to it again! He gets the scanner and the wheel. Blackheart solves the next clue in the logbook. He takes the wheel to the waterfall. He finds a hidden panel and turns the waterfall off, opening a secret door. Kate enters with Mars. They are still angry at each other. But they must work together as Blackheart races to beat them. They find a walkway and an icy block in the wall. They smash it and find the next clue: a golden egg.

The logbook says to take the golden egg to the cliffs on Castaway Island. Kate throws it off the cliff. It begins to fly, then explodes, leaving a diamond! Mars and Kate are friends again. They take the diamond to Quade's ship. He tells them how his heart was broken. Then he disappears, leaving a floating portal. The diamond is put into the portal. A beam of light shoots out, showing a holographic map! It shows a secret island has risen from the waves. That's where they will find the golden idol!

The Final Battle and Going Home

The race to return home is on! Kate travels to the island, with Blackheart close behind. They find a golden door. They use Sarah's talking plant to get inside. But just as they are about to enter the final part of the treasure hunt, Blackheart escapes! He throws them off the cliff onto a rocky ledge. There is no way to escape as the pirates head towards the idol.

Kate gathers her energy. She realizes that in this video game, there are no rules! She flies without the jetpack, moving gracefully. She escapes towards the final room. There, Kate and Blackheart sword-fight. Blackheart hits Kate backward, right into the path of the golden idol. Kate ducks, and Blackheart gets zapped! He turns to gold. The battle is over!

Carmen takes control of the pirate ship. She finds the scanner. Thanking Kate, she gives it to her. They leave the island. Back at the treehouse, Kate and Mars share a kiss. She promises she'll be back. Mars says he'll be waiting. Kate programs the scanner back to its original state. They leave the island and find their room exactly as they left it. But they realize they brought Sarah's talking plant home with them! "Pirate Islands is real," Kate whispers. They all smile at each other.

Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji

Story of The Lost Treasure of Fiji

This sequel introduces new characters. Three Australian computer game champions, Tyler, Marty, and Alison, join one Fijian computer champion, Kirra. They are forced to swap their game consoles for real swords! They are thrown into a virtual pirate island world in Fiji.

They face the dreaded Captain Blackheart again. But this time, he has a dangerous new First Mate, Lily. They also face a group of fierce pirates. The goal is to find a huge treasure. This treasure was stolen from an Egyptian Pharaoh's tomb by a legendary pirate ship called Neptune's Revenge. Its captain was Salty Ben.

Tyler, Kirra, and Alison become friends with a local Fijian tribe. Their leader is Sol, who likes Kirra. Marty, however, prefers the pirate life. He even becomes Captain Blackheart's cabin boy for a while. People often wonder if Marty is on Blackheart's side or his brother Tyler's side. This becomes a bigger problem when Lily leads a revolt and takes over Blackheart's ship. Lily is meaner, more suspicious, and much smarter than Blackheart. Blackheart is more for comedy than fast action scenes.

Will Tyler, Kirra, and Alison find the three torn pieces of the treasure map? Will they find their way home? Or will Captain Blackheart, Marty, Lily, and the pirate crew find the Eye of Osiris? This is the treasure of all treasures, and it promises to let them live forever!
