Pizza My Heart is a popular chain of pizzeria restaurants. You can find them mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. It all started in 1981 in Capitola, California. Fred Poulos and Keith Holtaway were the founders. Later, in 1997, they joined with another pizza place called Pizza-a-Go-Go. All those new restaurants became 'Pizza My Heart' too. Today, Chuck Hammers owns the company. There are now 25 Pizza My Heart locations!

What's the Theme?
When Pizza My Heart first opened, it had a special theme. It looked like an old-school East Coast pizzeria. This was a new idea for California at the time. The first store opened on May 19, 1981. They used cool street photos and even a comic strip for advertising. This helped the first store in Santa Cruz become very popular.
Surfer Style
Now, Pizza My Heart has a fun, retro surfer look. This style was inspired by the first restaurants in Capitola and Santa Cruz. The walls are decorated with old photos from the 1930s to the 1970s. You can also see vintage surfboards and other cool surfing items. Sometimes, they even play old surf songs and videos from the 1960s. You might hear hits from The Beach Boys!

A professional surfer named Wingnut (Robert "Wingnut" Weaver) was in their TV ads for a long time. He played a character named Jimmy.
