Sheldon is a small town located in Franklin County, Vermont, United States. In 2020, about 2,136 people lived there. The town includes a smaller community called Sheldon Springs.

Exploring Sheldon's Location
Sheldon was first named Hungerford. It was later renamed after Elisha Sheldon, a hero from the American Revolutionary War. This town is in the middle of Franklin County. The Missisquoi River flows through it. This river goes west and eventually reaches Lake Champlain.
How to Get Around Sheldon
Vermont Route 105 follows the Missisquoi River through most of Sheldon. If you go east on this route, you'll reach Enosburg Falls. Going southwest will take you to St. Albans, which is the main town of the county.
Other important roads include:
- Vermont Route 78: This road goes northwest from Sheldon Junction. It follows the Missisquoi River to Highgate Center and Swanton.
- Vermont Route 120: This route heads north from North Sheldon to Franklin.
- Vermont Route 236: This road goes north from South Franklin (which is in the eastern part of Sheldon) to East Franklin.
- Sheldon Springs is located in the western part of Sheldon, near Route 105 and south of the Missisquoi River.
