Star Wars: The Last Jedi is an exciting American space opera movie. It was written and directed by Rian Johnson. This film came out all over the world in December 2017. It is the second movie in the new Star Wars story, called the sequel trilogy. It comes after Star Wars: The Force Awakens and before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Who Stars in The Last Jedi?
Many actors from The Force Awakens returned for this movie. These include Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis.
New actors joined the cast too. They are Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran. Sadly, Carrie Fisher passed away in December 2016. The Last Jedi was her final movie role.
How The Last Jedi Was Made
The idea for this movie was announced after Disney bought Lucasfilm in October 2012. Ram Bergman and Kathleen Kennedy helped produce the film.
John Williams, who wrote music for many Star Wars movies, created the score for this one too. Some scenes were filmed in Ireland at a place called Skellig Michael in September 2015. Most of the filming started in February 2016 at Pinewood Studios in England. It finished in July 2016.
The Last Jedi was released on December 15, 2017. The final movie in this trilogy, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, came out on December 20, 2019.
