TMNT is a computer-animated fantasy action movie released in 2007. It was made in the United States. This film is part of the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) series. It is the fourth movie in the original TMNT movie series. This movie was special because it was the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film made using computer-generated imagery (CGI). It was also the first movie in the series to come out in 14 years.

TMNT was written and directed by Kevin Munroe. Many famous actors lent their voices to the characters, including Nolan North, James Arnold Taylor, Mikey Kelley, Mitchell Whitfield, Chris Evans, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kevin Smith, Patrick Stewart, Zhang Ziyi, and Laurence Fishburne, who is the narrator. The animation was created by Imagi Animation Studios. The movie was produced by Warner Bros. Pictures. It was the last movie that producer Mako Iwamatsu worked on before he passed away. Peter Laird, one of the two people who created the Turtles, also helped produce the film.

The story starts with the four Turtles—Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo—who have grown apart. This happened after they finally defeated the Shredder. Strange things begin to happen in New York City when ancient creatures threaten the world. The Turtles must come back together as a team to save everyone.

TMNT first showed in cinemas on March 23, 2007. It did well at the box office, earning about US$95 million around the world. Movie critics had mixed feelings about it, giving it both good and bad reviews.

Movie Story: What Happens?

Three thousand years ago, a powerful warlord named Yaotl went through a special portal. This portal led him to a parallel universe. There, he became immortal, meaning he could not die. However, his four generals were turned into stone statues. The portal also let out 13 powerful monsters. These monsters destroyed Yaotl's army and his enemies.

The Turtles Go Their Own Ways

In the present day, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are not as close as they used to be. After they defeated the Shredder, Master Splinter sent Leonardo to Central America for more training. There, Leonardo helps protect a village from bad guys.

The other Turtles are busy with different jobs. Donatello works with computers as an IT specialist. Michelangelo works as a birthday party entertainer called "Cowabunga Carl." Raphael works at night as a vigilante called "Nightwatcher." A vigilante is someone who tries to stop crime on their own.

April and Casey's Role

April O'Neil, a friend of the Turtles, runs a business that finds old and valuable items for collectors. Her boyfriend, Casey Jones, helps her. April travels to Central America for work and finds Leonardo. She tells him that the Turtles have drifted apart.

April returns to New York City with a statue for a rich businessman named Max Winters. Leonardo also comes back. April and Casey deliver the statue to Winters. Winters then hires Karai and the Foot Clan to search the city. They are looking for the 13 monsters before the portal opens again.

Secrets and New Threats

Raphael meets Casey, who figures out that Raphael is the Nightwatcher. Casey decides to join Raphael in fighting criminals. It turns out that Max Winters is actually Yaotl, the immortal warlord from long ago. He brings his stone generals back to life.

Leonardo returns to the sewer home and meets Splinter. Splinter tells the Turtles they cannot fight until they learn to work as a team again. While training, the Turtles find one of the 13 monsters, Bigfoot. Bigfoot is fighting the Foot Clan. The Turtles get involved, even though Leonardo and Splinter told them not to.

Raphael visits Casey, and they see another monster, Vampire Succubor. They watch as the Foot Clan and the Stone Generals capture it. Raphael gets knocked out. Casey takes Raphael back to the apartment. April calls the other Turtles for help and tells them who Yaotl and his generals really are.

Tensions and Decisions

After Raphael wakes up, he wants to go after Yaotl. But Leonardo tells him not to go until Splinter gives the order. Raphael decides to investigate on his own.

Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo plan their next move. Donatello figures out that the next portal will open over Winters' tower. Splinter tells Leonardo that their team is not complete yet. He hints that Leonardo knows what he needs to do.

After 11 monsters are captured, General Aguila, one of Yaotl's generals, starts to question Yaotl's plans. The generals secretly decide to betray Yaotl. They want to stay immortal forever.

Raphael finds the Jersey Devil, another monster, but he scares it away. Leonardo and Raphael then fight each other. Raphael breaks Leonardo's swords, and Raphael is forced to leave. The generals capture Leonardo. They plan to use him instead of the missing 13th monster. Raphael decides he must rescue Leonardo to make things right.

The Final Battle

As the portal opens, Yaotl discovers his generals' betrayal. Splinter and the Turtles, along with Casey and April, fight their way through the Foot Clan to reach the tower. Yaotl tells the heroes the truth: he wants to be free from his curse of immortality. The generals, however, want to keep their immortality. They also want to use the portal to bring in more monsters to take over the world.

April, Casey, and the Foot Clan work together. They search for the last monster, the Sea Monster. The Turtles fight the generals. Splinter and Yaotl fight off many monsters coming from the portal. April, Casey, and Karai arrive at the tower with the Sea Monster. The Sea Monster crashes into the Generals, pulling them into the portal before it closes.

Karai warns the Turtles that they will soon face enemies from their past. The Turtles think she means the Shredder. She and the Foot Clan leave. Yaotl, now mortal, thanks the Turtles and Splinter for helping him. He then disappears. Splinter puts Yaotl's helmet in his collection of trophies. He also adds Raphael's "Nightwatcher" helmet and Michelangelo's "Cowabunga Carl" head. As the Turtles go back to being the secret protectors of New York City, Raphael says that they will always be brothers.
