Chris Evans (born Christopher Robert Evans on June 13, 1981) is a famous American actor. He started his acting journey in TV shows like Opposite Sex in 2000. After appearing in some teen movies, such as Not Another Teen Movie (2001), he became well-known for playing the Human Torch in the Fantastic Four movies (2005 and 2007).
Chris Evans became even more famous for playing Captain America in many Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films. These included Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). His work in these superhero movies made him one of the highest-paid actors in the world. Besides superhero roles, Evans has starred in movies like the drama Gifted (2017) and the mystery film Knives Out (2019). He also voiced Buzz Lightyear in the animated movie Lightyear (2022). Chris Evans was born on June 13, 1981, in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in a nearby town called Sudbury. His mother, Lisa, was an artistic director for a youth theater, and his father, Bob, was a dentist. Chris has two sisters, Carly and Shanna, and a brother, Scott Evans, who is also an actor. Their uncle, Mike Capuano, was a U.S. Representative.
As a child, Chris loved musical theater and went to acting camp. He even performed in musicals like Bye Bye Birdie. He and his siblings often put on shows for their family during Christmases. Chris felt very comfortable on stage, saying it "felt like home." Before his last year of high school, he spent a summer in New York City taking acting classes. He finished high school in 1999.

Early Roles (1997–2004)
Chris Evans' first acting job was in a short educational film in 1997. In 1999, he was even a model for the board game Mystery Date.
In 2000, Chris moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. He quickly got a role in a TV movie called The Newcomers. He also had a main role in the TV series Opposite Sex.
In 2001, he starred in Not Another Teen Movie, a funny movie that made fun of other teen films. Even though critics didn't love it, the movie did well at the box office. In 2004, he was in The Perfect Score, a comedy about students trying to steal exam answers. Later that year, he co-starred in the action movie Cellular. Critics thought Chris was a "charismatic leading man" in that film.
Becoming Well-Known (2005–2010)
In 2005, Chris Evans took on his first comic book role. He played the superhero Johnny Storm / Human Torch in Fantastic Four. The movie was a big success, and many praised Chris's performance. He played the Human Torch again in the sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007).
He also voiced Casey Jones in the animated movie TMNT (2007). That same year, he starred in the science fiction thriller Sunshine, which received good reviews. In 2008, Chris appeared in the thriller Street Kings.
In 2009, he starred in the science fiction thriller Push. He played a character with superhuman abilities. Chris did many of his own fight scenes in the movie.

He even cried on the last day of filming. Avengers: Endgame became one of the highest-grossing films ever, earning $2.7 billion worldwide.
In 2018, Chris made his debut on Broadway in the play Lobby Hero. Critics praised his performance, and he was nominated for an award. In 2019, he starred in the Netflix thriller The Red Sea Diving Resort. He also played a charming villain in the mystery film Knives Out, which was very popular.
In 2020, Chris starred in Defending Jacob, a crime drama series on Apple TV+. He played a district attorney whose son is accused of murder. In 2022, he voiced Buzz Lightyear in the animated movie Lightyear. He also starred in the Netflix action film The Gray Man.
More recently, Chris starred in the action comedy Ghosted (2023). He also returned to voice Lucas Lee in the animated TV series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and made a cameo as Johnny Storm / Human Torch in Deadpool & Wolverine (2024). He will return to the MCU in a future film called Avengers: Doomsday in 2026.
Personal Life

Chris Evans is a follower of Buddhism. He is a big fan of the New England Patriots football team. In 2015, while filming Gifted, Chris adopted a dog named Dodger from an animal shelter. He often shares pictures and videos with Dodger.
Chris Evans married Portuguese actress Alba Baptista on September 9, 2023.
Views and Charity Work
Chris Evans has spoken out in support of same-sex marriage. He believes that everyone should have equal rights. He also launched a website called A Starting Point in 2020. This website shares short interviews with American politicians from different parties. The goal is to help people understand political issues from various viewpoints.
Chris is a strong supporter of Christopher's Haven, a charity that helps families with children who have cancer. He has taken part in many fundraisers for the organization. In 2015, he and actor Chris Pratt visited patients at a children's hospital. In 2020, Chris organized a virtual fundraiser with his Avengers co-stars to help charities that fight hunger.
