Christopher Robert Evans (born June 13, 1981) is an American actor. He is famous for playing Captain America in many Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies. These films include Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). His work in these movies made him one of the highest-paid actors in the world. All of Chris Evans's films have earned over .4 billion worldwide. This makes him one of the highest-earning movie stars ever.
He started his acting journey in TV shows like Opposite Sex in 2000. After appearing in several teen movies, such as Not Another Teen Movie (2001), he became more well-known. He played the Marvel Comics character Human Torch in Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). Christopher Robert Evans was born on June 13, 1981, in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in the nearby town of Sudbury. His mother, Lisa, is an artistic director, and his father, Bob, is a dentist. His parents separated in 1999.
Chris has two sisters, Carly and Shanna, and a brother, actor Scott Evans. He and his siblings were raised Catholic. Their uncle, Mike Capuano, was a mayor and a U.S. Representative.
As a child, Chris loved musical theater and went to acting camp. He performed in the musical Bye Bye Birdie. He and his siblings also put on shows for their family during Christmases. Chris remembered feeling "at home" when he was on stage. Before his last year of high school, he spent a summer in New York City. There, he took classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Chris graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 1999.

Chris Evans's first acting appearance was in a short educational film in 1997. In 1999, he was a model for the "Tyler" character in the board game Mystery Date.
In September 2000, Chris moved to Los Angeles. He made his TV movie debut in The Newcomers, playing a boy who falls in love with a girl. That same year, he had a main role in the TV series Opposite Sex. He also appeared in an episode of The Fugitive.
