Taborah began her career in a big musical show. It was called Hair and was performed in Toronto. Later, she sang backup for the famous musician Rick James. This was from 1979 to 1982. She even sang on his hit song, "Super Freak".

After that, Taborah returned to Toronto. She became a jazz singer. She also sang backup for her sister Molly's band, Infidels.

Taborah Johnson has acted in many different shows. She appeared in popular TV series like Cagney and Lacey and Homicide: Life on the Street. Her brother Clark Johnson was also part of Homicide.
