The Band's Journey
The Fold's first album, Not Of This World, came out in 2003. Their second album, This Too Shall Pass, was released on February 22, 2006. It was released through Tooth & Nail Records. The next album, Secrets Keep You Sick, came out on May 22, 2007.
Secrets Keep You Sick was nominated for a Grammy. This award was for its cool packaging. However, the band did not win. After Secrets was released, The Fold went on the Vans Warped Tour. This is a big music festival. The band also played shows in the UK in 2008. They played with their friends Plain White T's and The Spill Canvas.
After returning to the U.S., The Fold left Tooth & Nail. They then made their fourth album, Dear Future, Come Get Me. They worked with producers Zack and Kenneth. These producers also worked on Secrets Keep You Sick.
In December 2009, the band made a fun music video. It was for their song "Every Band in the USA". This song was a parody of "Party in the U.S.A." by Miley Cyrus. The video has been watched almost 500,000 times on YouTube. On June 29, 2010, they released another video. This one was for the song "Neverender". It was filmed at Willowbrook High School. This was the old school of the band's singer, Dan Castady.
In November 2010, The Fold released a Christmas song. It was called "This Christmas" and was available on iTunes. They also made two unofficial videos for it.
Music for Ninjago and Sports
In January 2011, The Fold recorded "The Weekend Whip". This song became the main theme for the Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu television series. In early 2012, the band announced a new EP. It would have ninja-themed pop rock songs. These songs were made for Ninjago fans. The EP was called "For The Spinners". It included karaoke versions too.
In 2012, The Fold wrote "Let's Go Cubbies". This song became the official song for the Chicago Cubs baseball team. It is still played during every Cubs game on WGN Radio. The Fold even performed live at Wrigley Field on opening day in April 2012.
The Fold's fifth album, Moving Past, came out on October 15, 2013. The band and Sean O'Keefe produced it together.
In 2016, The Fold wrote more music for the Cubs. One song was "Let The Games Begin". They played it at Wrigley Field on Opening Day. They also played it before the playoffs. The Cubs won the World Series that year. It was their first win in 108 years!
The Fold kept writing music in 2017. Most of their new songs were for LEGO Ninjago. They also started talking about a new full album.
In a special episode of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, The Fold appeared as LEGO Minifigures. They sang "The Weekend Whip" to celebrate the Ninja's victory. They also appeared as characters in a Season 10 short called "The Weekend Drill".
"The Weekly Whip" is a series on YouTube. It brings a new episode every week. It started on August 2nd.
On November 13, 2020, The Fold released "Young & Free". This was their first song not related to Ninjago in seven years. On April 16, 2021, they released "World Gone Mad". This song was also not related to Ninjago.
On September 9, 2022, The Fold released their newest album. It is called "Stereo Fire".
