Preceded by | The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie |
The Naked Brothers Band was an American musical comedy TV show. It was created by Polly Draper and aired on Nickelodeon from February 3, 2007, to June 13, 2009. The show followed the daily lives of Polly Draper's real-life sons, Nat Wolff and Alex Wolff. In the show, they led a famous rock band in New York City.
The series was a mockumentary, which means it was filmed like a documentary but was actually a made-up story. It was a funny version of Nat and Alex's real lives. The characters often knew a camera was filming them. Nat Wolff was the lead singer and songwriter, and Alex Wolff was the drummer. Other band members included Nat's fictional crush, Rosalina (played by Allie DiMeco), and his real-life friends Thomas Batuello, David Levi, and Cooper Pillot. Qaasim Middleton played another band member. Polly Draper's husband, Michael Wolff, played their dad, who played the accordion. Her niece, Jesse Draper, played the band's babysitter.
The TV show was a spin-off of a movie with the same name, The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie. Nickelodeon picked up the movie and turned it into a series. Polly Draper was the executive producer, writer, and director for many episodes. Albie Hecht, a former president of Nickelodeon, was also an executive producer. The show was very popular with kids aged 6–11. When it first aired, it had 3.7 million viewers. The band's song "Crazy Car" even made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 charts. The show won a Broadcast Music, Inc. Award and a Writers Guild of America Award. The series ended after three seasons because filming became too demanding and started to affect the brothers' schooling.

The Story of The Naked Brothers Band
The show followed the adventures of Nat and Alex Wolff and their band. They faced challenges, recorded music, and went on tour.
The Pilot Movie
The show started with a movie called The Naked Brothers Band: The Movie. It was filmed in 2004 when Nat was nine and Alex was six. The movie showed them and their friends, who were the first band members. They filmed a documentary about their band, "The Silver Boulders." The band almost broke up because Nat wrote a song about a girl named Rosalina (Allie DiMeco). Later, Rosalina and Cole Hawkins joined, and the band became "The Naked Brothers Band."
Many famous people appeared in the movie, playing themselves or other roles. These guests included Cindy Blackman, Ann Curry, Arsenio Hall, Ricki Lake, Cyndi Lauper, Julianne Moore, Tony Shalhoub, Uma Thurman, and Nancy Wilson.
Season 1: 2007 Adventures
The first season had 13 episodes and 1 TV special. It started in February 2007. Nat was 11, and Alex was 8. David, Thomas, and Cooper were also 11. Qaasim was 10, and Rosalina was 13.
In this season, the band recorded their first album and made music videos. In the first episode, Alex was worried about his horoscope. The band's music video for "Banana Smoothie" won an MTV Video Music Award. Nat tried stand-up comedy but struggled until George Lopez gave him advice. Nat had a crush on Rosalina, and it was clear they liked each other. Rosalina even kissed Nat.
Alex got upset when Jesse, their babysitter, dated other guys. He ran away and became friends with an orphan named Juanita. The boys' dad started dating a woman named Betty. The season ended with a "Battle of The Bands" against another group called The LA Surfers. The Naked Brothers Band also performed at a charity event for Juanita.
Season 2: 2008 Tour
The second season had 13 episodes and 2 TV specials. It began in January 2008. Nat was 12, and Alex was 9. Rosalina was 14, Qaasim was 11, and Thomas, David, and Cooper were 12.
Guest stars in this season included Jules Feiffer, Joel Madden, Tony Hawk, George Lopez, and Phil Collins. The season started with a school masquerade party and prom. Nat, Alex, and Cooper went on dates. Cooper had a Bar Mitzvah. The band started getting ready for their tour. The band members had personal worries before leaving: their dad was sad about a breakup, David worried about his dog, and Rosalina wanted to say goodbye to her father. But everything worked out.
The band performed concerts, including one at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. The TV movie "Polar Bears" showed the end of their tour in New Orleans, Louisiana. There, they met friends who were affected by Hurricane Katrina. Alex became very concerned about global warming and polar bears after watching a movie. The band donated money from their performance to a charity supporting climate change.
Season 3: 2008–09 Movies and Changes
The third season started with the TV movie "Mystery Girl" in October 2008. It also had other TV movies and episodes. Nat, Thomas, David, and Cooper were 13. Qaasim was 12, Alex was 10, and Rosalina was 15.

When Rosalina returned, she and Nat had an argument, and she quit the band. The band held a "Naked Idol" contest to find a new bass player and chose Kristina Reyes. However, Nat and Rosalina made up, and she rejoined the band. Kristina also stayed, becoming a second guitarist.
Meet the Band and Friends
Main Cast
- Nat Wolff plays himself. He is the lead singer, songwriter, and keyboardist for the band. He also plays guitar for some songs. Nat is known for writing love songs, especially about his crush on Rosalina. In the second season, Nat and Rosalina became a couple. But in the third season, their relationship became difficult when Rosalina went on a long cruise.
- Alex Wolff plays himself. He is Nat's younger brother and the band's energetic drummer. He sometimes plays keyboards and sings songs he wrote. Alex often wears socks tied around his ankles and a red, white, and blue do-rag. He really likes Jesse, the babysitter, and doesn't like it when she dates other people.
- Thomas Batuello plays himself. He is the band's cellist. Thomas often plans funny pranks with David. At first, he and David made fun of Nat for liking Rosalina. - Allie DiMeco plays Rosalina. She is the bassist and Nat's main love interest. She left the band twice.
