Roman Empire Changes
In 11 AD, some big things happened in the Roman Empire.
- Germanicus Secures Borders: A famous Roman general named Germanicus made sure the areas of Germania Inferior and the Rhine River were safe for Rome. This helped protect the Roman lands from outside groups.
- Augustus Changes Plans: The Roman Emperor Augustus decided to stop his plan to build a strong border along the Elbe River. Instead, he chose to make the Roman defenses even stronger along the Rhine and Danube rivers. These rivers became very important natural borders for the Roman Empire.
Other Rulers Emerge
Beyond Rome, new leaders came to power in other parts of the world.
- Artabanus III in Parthia: Artabanus III became the new ruler of Parthia. Parthia was a powerful empire located in what is now parts of Iran and other nearby countries. He belonged to the Arsacid Dynasty, which was the ruling family of Parthia for a long time.
- Satakarni in India: In India, Satakarni began his time as the Emperor of the Andhra Empire. This empire was a significant power in ancient India, and Satakarni ruled from 11 AD until 29 AD.
