A Whole New World is a famous song from Disney's 1992 animated movie, Aladdin. Alan Menken wrote the music and Tim Rice wrote the words.
The song is a duet (sung by two people). It was first sung by Brad Kane and Lea Salonga. They were the singing voices for the main characters, Aladdin and Jasmine. This ballad is the main love and theme song of the film.
The words of "A Whole New World" describe Aladdin showing Princess Jasmine a new, free life. They sing about their love while flying on a magic carpet. The song won an Academy Award for Best Original Song. This is a very important award for movie music. It also won a Grammy Award for Song of the Year. This was for the version sung by Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle. It was the first Disney song to win this Grammy. Later, Zayn Malik and Zhavia Ward made their own version for the 2019 Aladdin (2019 film) movie.
