When she was 14, Morissette was a runner-up in a TV show called Star Factor. She also started acting in a musical, Camp Rock: The Musical, in 2012. She became even more famous after being a semi-finalist in the first season of The Voice of the Philippines. Morissette is known for her wide vocal range and for being able to sing in the whistle register, which is a very high vocal sound.
In 2015, Morissette released her first album, Morissette. It sold so well that it was certified Platinum! The next year, she had her first big solo concert in Manila. In 2017, she worked with American singer Michael Bolton on a show called Bolt of Talent. She also proudly represented the Philippines at the Asia Song Festival in South Korea in both 2017 and 2018.

Her Journey to Stardom
Early Life and Discovering Her Voice
Johanne Morissette Daug Amon was born on June 2, 1996, in Cebu, Philippines. Her mom is Analie Daug, and her dad, Amay Amon, is a rock musician. Morissette is the oldest of two children. She went to school at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy in Minglanilla, Cebu.
Her dad chose her first name, "Johanne" (pronounced "Yohan"), after the famous German composer Johann Sebastian Bach. Her stage name, "Morissette", comes from her dad's favorite singer, Alanis Morissette. When Morissette was just 3 years old, her family found her singing the song "You Are My Song" by Regine Velasquez using a karaoke machine. That's how they knew she had a special talent!
Singing Contests and Inspiration
Morissette started entering singing contests in Cebu when she was young. In her first contest, she sang "Reflection" by Christina Aguilera. She joined many competitions, like Young Star Singing Idol. At age 9, she was a finalist in Little Big Star Cebu. At 11, she won a contest called DYKC Awit sa Kabataan.
She also performed as a front act for famous singers like Sarah Geronimo and Kim Chiu during their mall tours in Cebu. Morissette has said that she learned to sing in the whistle register from singers like Nina Girado and Mariah Carey. She also looked up to Regine Velasquez and Sarah Geronimo as she grew up.
Starting Her TV Career
At 14, Morissette appeared on TV5's Talentadong Pinoy. In 2011, she recorded 14 songs, but they weren't released until much later as Morissette at 14, Vol 1 and Vol 2. After Talentadong Pinoy, she joined another TV5 show, Star Factor, and made it to the finals in Manila. She finished as the first runner-up. She then appeared in TV5 shows like Pidol's Wonderland and Kapitan Awesome.
In 2012, Morissette played the main role of Mitchie Torres in Disney's Camp Rock: The Musical. This musical ran for about a month in Makati City. Rehearsing and performing so much was tough on her voice, and she was diagnosed with vocal cord nodules.
Joining The Voice of the Philippines
Morissette wanted to focus on her singing career. So, she decided to join ABS-CBN's new singing competition, The Voice of the Philippines. In June 2013, during the blind auditions, Morissette sang "Love On Top". Sarah Geronimo chose her to be part of her team.
Morissette did well in the show, moving on to the live performances. She sang songs like "Jar of Hearts" and "What About Love". She made it to the semifinals, where she sang "The Voice Within" and "Who You Are". She was eliminated in the semifinals after a close competition.
