Angelo Christopher Moore, born on November 5, 1965, is a talented American musician. He is most famous as the lead singer and saxophonist for the Los Angeles band Fishbone. This band plays a mix of ska and funk metal music.

Angelo Moore also uses the stage name Dr. MadVibe for his solo work. He has worked with many other famous bands and artists. These include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction, Gwen Stefani, and Bad Brains. He has performed in over 3,300 shows during his career. Angelo currently lives in Woodland Hills, California.

Growing Up in Southern California

Angelo Moore grew up in the San Fernando Valley area of Southern California. He went to Platt Ranch Elementary School. Later, he attended Hale Junior High School in Woodland Hills. It was there that he met the other original members of the band Fishbone.

Family's Musical Influence

Angelo's father, William George Moore, was an English teacher and speech pathologist. He also played the saxophone for the famous jazz musician Count Basie. His mother, Dazireen Daretta Johnson, was an English teacher. From a young age, Angelo's parents introduced him to different types of music. He listened to jazz, soul, blues, and funk music.

Education and Starting Fishbone

Angelo went to El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills. After high school, he attended Pierce College. However, he left college to focus on performing with his band, Fishbone.

Angelo Moore's Creative Projects

Solo Music and Poetry

Besides his work with Fishbone, Angelo Moore has many other creative projects. In 1993, he released a book of poetry called Dr. Madd Vibe's Comprehensive Linkology. He also released his first solo music CD in 1997, also titled Dr. Madd Vibe's Comprehensive Linkology. He made a video called The Delusional Quandaries Of Dr. Madd Vibe.

In 2000, Moore released another CD and video set called The Yin-Yang Thang. In 2006, he released the CD Dr. Madd Vibe's Medicine Cabinet. In 2010, he released "The Angelo Show," which was supported by a kickstarter campaign.

Acting and Collaborations

Angelo Moore also appeared in the movie Idlewild. He played the role of the bandleader in the film. This movie featured members of the music group Outkast.

In 2012, Angelo Moore and the Rondo Brothers released a song called "Brand New Step." This song was released under the Ninth Street Opus record label.

Recent Activities

In 2020, Angelo Moore started a Patreon site. On this site, he shares creative pieces like "The Mirror of What" and "Story Time Theater." In 2021, he acted in a music video for a song called "Holier than Thou." This was a cover song by the band Off!.

In 2022, Moore joined the "Celebrating David Bowie" tour. He performed alongside other musicians like Adrian Belew and Todd Rundgren.
