Brian Tyree Henry (born March 31, 1982) is an American actor. He is well-known for his role as Alfred "Paper Boi" Miles in the TV show Atlanta. For this role, he was nominated for an Emmy Award.
Henry has appeared in many popular movies. These include Widows (2018), If Beale Street Could Talk (2018), and Joker (2019). He also played Phastos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Eternals (2021). He was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in Causeway (2022). Brian Tyree Henry has also lent his voice to characters like Jefferson Davis in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and Megatron in Transformers One (2024).
He has also performed on stage. He made his acting debut in a play called Romeo and Juliet in 2007. He was also part of the original Broadway cast of The Book of Mormon in 2011. For his work in the play Lobby Hero in 2018, he was nominated for a Tony Award.

Brian Tyree Henry was born on March 31, 1982. He grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina and also spent time in Washington, D.C.. His father was in the military. His mother, Willow Dean Kearse, worked as an educator. Henry went to E. E. Smith High School in Fayetteville. He then studied at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. He first studied business but later switched to acting. He earned his master's degree from the Yale School of Drama.

Starting His Career (2007–2015)
Brian Tyree Henry began his acting journey on stage. He performed in many plays and musicals. In 2007, he played Tybalt in a production of Romeo and Juliet. He also appeared in a series of plays called The Brother/Sister Plays. In 2011, he made his first appearance on Broadway. He was part of the first cast of the musical The Book of Mormon.
Henry also had guest roles on TV shows. These included NBC's Law & Order and CBS's The Good Wife. In 2013, he had a small role in HBO's Boardwalk Empire. The next year, he appeared in the series The Knick. His first movie role was in the 2015 comedy Puerto Ricans in Paris.
Becoming Well-Known (2016–Present)
In 2016, Brian Tyree Henry became very popular. This was because of his role as Alfred "Paper Boi" Miles. He played this character in the FX comedy-drama series Atlanta. Critics praised his performance. He was nominated for an Emmy Award for his work on the show. Many people called him one of the best actors working today.
From 2016 to 2017, he also acted in the HBO comedy series Vice Principals. In 2017, Henry appeared in the NBC drama series This Is Us. He received another Emmy nomination for this role. That same year, he starred in the films Person to Person and Crown Heights.
In 2018, he returned to Broadway in the play Lobby Hero. He acted alongside Chris Evans and Michael Cera. Critics loved his performance. He was nominated for a Tony Award for this role. Also in 2018, Henry had a big year in movies. He appeared in seven films. He was in Steve McQueen's crime film Widows. He also starred in Barry Jenkins' romantic drama If Beale Street Could Talk. Brian Tyree Henry voiced a younger Megatron in the animated movie Transformers One. He was the first Black actor to voice this character. In 2024, he also became the new voice of Smokey Bear.

Brian Tyree Henry's mother, Willow Deane Kearse, passed away in early 2016. An episode of Atlanta called "Woods" was dedicated to her. His father also passed away while Henry was filming the movie ... Thief.
