Bush, became President of the United States. This means they were the first family of the United States from 1989 to 1993, and again from 2001 to 2009.
Before becoming president, George H.W. Bush was the Vice President of the United States. The Bush family is one of only four families in U.S. history to have two presidents with the same last name. The other families are the Adams, Roosevelt, and Harrison families.
Besides politics, family members have also been involved in news, sports, entertainment, and business.
