Bussigny-sur-Oron was once a small town in Switzerland. It was located in the Canton of Vaud, specifically in the Lavaux-Oron area.
On January 1, 2012, Bussigny-sur-Oron joined with several other towns. These towns were Châtillens, Chesalles-sur-Oron, Ecoteaux, Oron-la-Ville, Oron-le-Châtel, Palézieux, Les Tavernes, Les Thioleyres, and Vuibroye. They all merged to form a new, larger town called Oron.

History of Bussigny-sur-Oron
Bussigny-sur-Oron was first written about in the year 1433. Back then, its name was spelled Bussignye.
Later, in 1517, it was mentioned in a special book. This book was a land registry, which listed who owned land. It belonged to Count Jean II de Gruyère.

Bussigny-sur-Oron is a small area, about 1.2 square kilometers (0.46 square miles). Most of this land, about 79.3%, is used for farming. This means people grow crops or raise animals there.

The town is located close to the Mionnaz river. It is also near the main road that connects Lausanne and Bulle.
