Lee Dong-min (Hangul: 이동민), known as Cha Eun-woo (Hangul: 차은우), is a famous South Korean singer and actor. He was born on March 30, 1997. He is a member of the popular K-pop boy band Astro. Cha Eun-woo also started his solo music career in 2024 with his first album, Entity.
He began acting in 2014 in the movie My Brilliant Life. Since then, he has become well-known for his main roles in many TV shows. Some of his most popular dramas include Gangnam Beauty (2018), True Beauty (2020–2021), and Wonderful World (2024).

About His Life and School
Cha Eun-woo was born in Gunpo, a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He has a younger brother.
He went to Nungnae Elementary School, Suri Middle School, and Suri High School. In 2016, he graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School, where he studied acting. Later, he went to Sungkyunkwan University to major in performing arts.
His Career Journey
Starting Out (2013–2015)
Cha Eun-woo was discovered by a talent scout when he was in middle school. His training to become an idol and actor began during his first year of high school.
In 2014, he made his acting debut with a small part in the movie My Brilliant Life. Because of his role, he was chosen to be a model for a Korean makeup brand called Shara Shara. In 2015, he got a main role in the web-drama To Be Continued.
Becoming Famous with Astro (2016–2022)
Cha Eun-woo officially joined the boy band Astro on February 23, 2016, when they released their first album, Spring Up.
He also appeared in many TV shows and dramas during this time:
- In 2016, he was a cast member on the reality show Law of the Jungle in New Caledonia.
- He became a host for the music show Show! Music Core from 2016 to 2018.
- He starred in web dramas like My Romantic Some Recipe (2016) and Sweet Revenge (2017).
- In 2018, he got his first main role in a TV drama, Gangnam Beauty. This show made him very popular.
- In 2019, he starred in the historical drama Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung. He won awards for his acting in this show.
- From 2020 to 2021, he was a regular cast member on the TV show Master in the House. He won the Rookie Award for his work on the show.
- In December 2020, he starred in the popular romance drama True Beauty, which was based on a webtoon.
- In 2022, he acted in the film Decibel and the TVING drama Island.
- By the end of 2022, he decided to continue his contract with his agency, Fantagio.
Solo Career and Global Fame (2023–Present)
In 2023, Cha Eun-woo starred in the fantasy romance drama A Good Day to Be a Dog. He also received the Global Icon Award at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2023, showing his growing international fame.
In 2024, he started his first solo fan concert tour called "Mystery Elevator." On February 15, 2024, he released his first solo album, Entity, with the main song "Stay." He performed all the songs from his album for the first time at his Seoul concert. He also starred in the drama Wonderful World in 2024.
He continues to be very busy with new projects, including a digital single "Hey Hello" with Peder Elias and a role in the upcoming Netflix series The Wonderfools.
