Kim Jun-myeon (Hangul: 김준면), known as Suho (Hangul: 수호), is a singer, songwriter, and actor from South Korea. He was born on May 22, 1991. Suho is the leader of the popular K-pop group Exo and its sub-unit Exo-K.
He started his solo music career on March 30, 2020. His first solo album was an extended play (EP) called Self-Portrait. Besides music, Suho has acted in many TV shows and movies. Some of his well-known roles are in One Way Trip (2016), The Universe's Star (2017), Rich Man (2018), and Missing Crown Prince (2024).

Early Life and Training
Suho was born Kim Jun-myeon in Seoul, South Korea. He grew up in Apgujeong-dong. When he was young, Suho was a very good student. He was even the class president in elementary school. He also served as the vice-chairman of his school's student body. He went to famous schools like Whimoon Middle School and Gaepo High School.
In 2006, when Suho was 16, a casting manager from SM Entertainment found him on the street. He then became a trainee at SM Entertainment. This is where young people learn to sing, dance, and act to become K-pop idols. In 2007, he had a small role in the Super Junior movie Attack on the ... Boys.
Career Highlights
Starting Out with Exo and Acting
Suho was introduced as the tenth member of Exo on February 15, 2012. The group officially started in April 2012 with their EP Mama. Suho became their leader.
In 2013, Suho lent his voice to the main character, Bernard, in the Korean version of the animated movie Saving Santa. He also sang the movie's theme song with Apink's Jung Eun-ji. From February to November 2014, Suho was a host for the music show Inkigayo. He hosted it with fellow Exo member Baekhyun and others.
In 2015, Suho acted in a special hologram musical called School OZ. He played the character Hans. He also joined the TV show Fluttering India, where he explored different places in Mumbai, India.
Suho made his first movie appearance in March 2016. It was an independent film called One Way Trip. In April 2016, he was cast in the web drama How Are U Bread. He also released a duet song called "Beautiful Accident" with Chen for a Chinese movie. In January 2017, Suho played the main male role in the drama The Universe's Star. He also sang a song for the drama called "Starlight." Later that year, he worked with jazz pianist Song Young-joo on a song called "Curtain." From December 2017 to March 2018, Suho starred in the musical The Last Kiss as Crown Prince Rudolf.
In March 2018, Suho released two duet songs, "Dinner" and "Do you have a moment," with Jang Jae-in. In May 2018, he returned to TV in the drama Rich Man. He played the role of an IT company founder. Suho also starred in the film Student A, which was released in June 2018. From July to August 2018, he performed in the musical The Man Who Laughs. He played Gwynplaine, a character with a unique face. His performance received great reviews. In October 2019, he appeared in a VR film called "The Present."
Solo Music and Military Service
On March 30, 2020, Suho released his first solo EP, Self-Portrait. The main song was "Let's Love." He was the fourth member of Exo to release solo music. The album was very popular, selling over 290,000 copies in South Korea. He also won awards on three major music shows in Korea that week.
On May 14, 2020, Suho began his mandatory military service. He served as a public service officer. He finished his service on February 13, 2022.
After his military service, Suho released his second mini-album, Grey Suit, on April 4, 2022. The album's main song was also called "Grey Suit." In October 2022, he collaborated with Thai singer Mew Suppasit on the song "Turn Off The Alarm." He also released "Call me a Freak" for the TV show Bad Prosecutor.
In March 2023, Suho was cast in the musical Mozart!. He played the main role of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In August 2023, he returned to TV in the drama Behind Your Touch. He also had a small appearance in Arthdal Chronicles in October 2023.
In January 2024, Suho was confirmed to star in the drama Missing Crown Prince, which aired in April 2024. He also sang a song for the show's soundtrack. In May 2024, Suho announced his third EP, 1 to 3. It included two main songs, "1 to 3" and "Cheese," which featured singer Wendy.
Personal Life and Education
In 2009, Suho started attending Korea National University of Arts. He later left in 2011 and continued his studies at Kyung Hee Cyber University. There, he studied Culture and Arts in Business Administration. Fellow Exo members Chanyeol and Baekhyun also attended this university. In 2016, Suho began studying for a master's degree in Culture Management at Inha University.
Suho has been practicing English since finishing his military service. On May 20, 2022, he gave a speech in English at Stanford University. He talked about the Hallyu wave, which is the global popularity of South Korean culture.
Helping Others
Suho is known for his charity work. Since 2019, he has donated personal items every year for auctions. These auctions are held by the Shiny Foundation, a charity started by the family of SHINee's Jonghyun.
Suho is also listed as a donor who has given more than 50 million Korean Won to the Seoul National University Hospital. In April 2024, Suho joined other South Korean entertainers in a fundraiser called Green Heart Bazaar. This event was organized by UNICEF Korea to help Palestinian children affected by the Gaza war.

Suho World Concert Tour "Su:Home" (2024)
Suho started his first solo concert tour called "Su:Home" in 2024. He held two concerts in Seoul, South Korea, on May 25–26, 2024. After that, he toured in several cities across Asia. He also had plans for concerts in Europe and Dubai, but those were later canceled. An encore concert in Seoul was announced for January 2025.
