The Story of Cinderella (2015 Film)
Ella's Early Life and Sadness
The movie begins with Ella living happily with her kind parents in a big house. Her mother teaches her to always have courage and be kind. Sadly, Ella's mother becomes very ill and passes away. Ella promises to remember her mother's last wish.
Years later, Ella's father marries Lady Tremaine, who has two daughters, Drisella and Anastasia. When Ella's father goes away on a business trip, Lady Tremaine shows her true, mean nature. She forces Ella to give up her room and move into the attic.
A New Name and a Royal Meeting
When Ella's father suddenly dies, Lady Tremaine fires all the servants. She makes Ella do all the housework. Ella often sleeps by the fireplace, and her face gets covered in ash. Her step-family starts calling her "Cinderella" to make fun of her.
Feeling very sad, Ella rides her horse into the woods. There, she meets a young man who is hunting. He tells her he is a palace apprentice, but he is actually Kit, the crown prince. Ella and Kit like each other right away, but they part ways without him knowing her name.
The Royal Ball and Magic
The King is very ill and wants Kit to find a princess to marry at the upcoming royal ball. Kit convinces his father to invite every young woman in the kingdom. He hopes Ella will come.
Ella tries to join her step-family for the ball, wearing her mother's old dress. But Lady Tremaine and her daughters tear the dress apart. They leave Ella behind. Crying in the garden, Ella meets an old beggar woman. This woman reveals she is Ella's Fairy Godmother!
The Fairy Godmother uses her magic to help Ella. She turns a pumpkin into a beautiful carriage. Mice become horses, lizards become footmen, and a goose becomes the coachman. Then, Ella's torn dress changes into a stunning ball gown. She also gets a pair of sparkling glass slippers. The Fairy Godmother warns Ella that the magic will disappear at midnight. She also casts a spell so Ella's step-family won't recognize her.
Midnight's Chimes and a Lost Slipper
At the ball, Kit is thrilled to see Ella. They share the first dance. The Grand Duke, who wants Kit to marry Princess Chelina, is annoyed. Lady Tremaine overhears him. Ella and the Prince connect deeply. Before Ella can tell Kit her name, the clock strikes midnight. She rushes away, losing one of her glass slippers.
The Grand Duke chases her, but Ella hides in the woods as the magic fades. She returns home and hides the other glass slipper under the floorboards.
A Kingdom-Wide Search
The King passes away, but not before giving Kit permission to marry Ella. Now the new king, Kit announces his love for the "mystery princess." He asks her to come forward. Ella hurries to get her hidden slipper to prove who she is.
However, Lady Tremaine finds the slipper first. She tells Ella she will only let her marry Kit if Ella makes her the head of the royal household. She also wants Ella to find good husbands for her stepsisters. Ella refuses. Lady Tremaine then smashes the slipper and locks Ella in the attic. She takes the broken slipper pieces to the Grand Duke. He agrees to her terms if she keeps Ella hidden forever.
The Grand Duke and the Captain of the Guard search the kingdom. They try the slipper on every woman, but it doesn't fit anyone. At Ella's house, the slipper doesn't fit either stepsister. As they are about to leave, they hear Ella singing. The Grand Duke wants to ignore it, but Kit, who secretly came along, orders the Captain to investigate.
The slipper fits Ella perfectly! Ella and Kit promise to love each other for who they truly are. As they leave, Ella forgives her stepmother. Soon after, Lady Tremaine, her daughters, and the Grand Duke leave the kingdom forever. Ella and Kit marry and become beloved rulers, leading with the same courage and kindness Ella learned from her mother.

- The Jungle Book
- Beauty and the Beast
- Aladdin
- The Lion King
- Mulan
- Pinocchio
- The Little Mermaid
- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
