Nonso Anozie (born 17 November 1978) is a talented British actor. He is well-known for his roles in many popular TV shows and movies.

On television, he played Xaro Xhoan Daxos in the HBO series Game of Thrones. He was also R.M. Renfield in the Sky series Dracula. Kids might know him as Abraham Kenyatta from the CBS series Zoo. More recently, he starred as Tommy Jepperd in the Netflix series Sweet Tooth. For his work in Sweet Tooth, he won a Children's and Family Emmy Award. He was also nominated for a BAFTA award.

In films, Nonso Anozie played the main character in Cass (2008). Other movies he has been in include RocknRolla (2008) and The Grey (2011). He also appeared in Ender's Game (2013) and Cinderella (2015). In 2019, he was in Guava Island.

Early Life and Education

Nonso Anozie was born on 17 November 1978 in North London, England. His parents are from Nigeria and belong to the Igbo people.

He went to St Aloysius College, Highgate for his schooling. Later, he studied acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama. He finished his studies there in 2002. That same year, he played the main role in William Shakespeare's play King Lear. In 2004, he won the Ian Charleson Award for his performance in another play, Othello.

Nonso Anozie has had a busy acting career in both films and television.

Voice Acting and Early Roles

In 2006, Nonso Anozie was chosen to be the voice of Iorek Byrnison. This was a large armored bear character in the movie The Golden Compass. This film was based on Philip Pullman's book Northern Lights. However, two months before the movie came out, Ian McKellen took over the voice role. The film's director, Chris Weitz, explained that it was a studio decision. He also said that Nonso Anozie was a very promising and soulful young actor.

Nonso Anozie also had smaller roles in films like RocknRolla as Think Tank. He played Frank Mace in the movie Atonement.

Leading Roles and TV Series

In 2008, he played the main character in Cass. This British crime drama told the real-life story of Cass Pennant. In 2009, he was in the BBC TV series Occupation. Here, he played a US Marine who became a private military contractor.

In 2011, he played Artus in Conan the Barbarian. Artus was a pirate and a friend of Conan. That same year, he joined the cast of the HBO series Game of Thrones as Xaro Xhoan Daxos. He also played Jackson Burke in the film The Grey. He appeared as Samson in The Bible miniseries on the History Channel.

From 2013 to 2014, Nonso Anozie played Renfield in the NBC series Dracula. In 2013, he was Sergeant Dap in the movie Ender's Game.

In November 2014, he was cast in the CBS summer drama Zoo. This show was based on a novel by James Patterson. Zoo started airing on 30 June 2015. In 2019, he played the character Red in the Amazon Prime Video film Guava Island. This movie starred Donald Glover and Rihanna.
