El Tigre was one of the first Nickelodeon shows to be fully animated using Adobe Flash. The series aired on Nickelodeon from 2007 to 2008. Later, it also showed on Nicktoons Network. In total, 26 episodes were made.

How the Show Was Made
El Tigre was created by the husband-and-wife team, Jorge Gutierrez and Sandra Equihua. They used their own childhood experiences to come up with the show's ideas. For example, Manny Rivera is based on Jorge when he was younger.
Many parts of the show are inspired by real events or people in Jorge's life. His father was an architect, which is seen as a "good" job. His grandfather was a military general, which Jorge saw as "evil." This real-life idea was made bigger for the show, turning them into a superhero and a supervillain. Miracle City itself is likely based on Tijuana, the city where Jorge grew up.
El Tigre's Big Choice
On January 25, 2008, Nickelodeon let viewers vote on how a special episode would end! This episode was called "The Good, the Bad, and the Tigre." Viewers got to decide if El Tigre would become a hero or a villain.
Most people voted for the heroic ending. In this ending, El Tigre defeated the villains Django and Sartana. If the villain ending had been chosen, El Tigre would have helped them take over the world. But then, he would have turned against them to rule with Frida! This episode was a really unique way to let fans be part of the story.
Episodes of El Tigre
The show has 26 episodes, with most being split into two shorter stories. Here are a few examples of the exciting adventures Manny and his friends get into:
- Sole of a Hero: Manny and Frida accidentally break Rodolfo's super-powered boots!
- Night of the Living Guacamole: Manny gets free guacamole from a disguised Dr. Chipotle Jr., which turns his dad and grandpa into guacamole zombies!
- Enter the Cuervo: Manny starts hanging out with a new supervillainess, Black Cuervo, which almost ruins his friendship with Frida.
- The Grave Escape: In a special two-part episode, Manny and Frida end up in the Land of the Dead during Dia De Los Muertos. Manny needs help from his ancestors to save his family!
