Grens is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the Nyon area, which is part of the canton of Vaud. Grens is known for its quiet, rural setting.

History of Grens
Grens has a long history. It was first mentioned in old writings around the years 1160 to 1189. Back then, it was called de Grens. Later, in 1164, it was known as Graiens, and by 1212, it was called Granz. These different names show how the town's name changed over many centuries.

Grens covers an area of about 2.6 square kilometers (1 square mile). A large part of this land, almost 90%, is used for farming. This means you'll see many fields and farms around Grens. About 2% of the land is covered by forests, and the rest is used for buildings and roads.
Grens is located on a flat area, like a plateau. It sits between the city of Nyon and the lower parts of the Jura Mountains.
