The Indian River Lagoon Scenic Highway is a super cool road trip route in Florida. It's about 130 miles (209 km) long! But here's a secret: it's not just one road. It's actually a bunch of roads all connected together.
These roads mostly run north and south along the beautiful Indian River Lagoon. Other roads connect them by going over the lagoon itself.
The two main roads that go north and south are:
- US 1, which runs along the western side of the Lagoon.
- A1A and State Road 3, which are on the eastern side.
Some of the roads that connect the east and west sides, going over the water, include:
- State Road 402, also called Playalinda Beach Road, at the very top of the Lagoon.
- State Road 405, which links US 1 to State Road 3.
- State Road 528
- State Road 520
- State Road 404 over the Pineda Causeway.
- The Eau Gallie Causeway (State Road 518).
- The Melbourne Causeway (U.S. Highway 192).
- The Wabasso Causeway at the southern end of the Lagoon.
