Iveta Roberti Mukuchyan (Armenian: Իվետա Ռոբերտի Մուկուչյան; born 14 October 1986) is a talented Armenian-German singer. She was born in Yerevan, Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic. In 1992, her family moved to Hamburg, Germany.
Iveta returned to Armenia in 2009. She competed in the fourth season of the TV show Hay Superstar, where she finished fifth. During this time, she also trained her voice at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. In 2012, Mukuchyan joined The Voice of Germany for its second season.
She represented Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Her song was called "LoveWave". She did very well, finishing seventh in the final competition. That same year, Iveta started acting in the comedy movie Run Away Or Get Married. She also released her first collection of songs, an extended play called IvaVerse. In late 2016, Mukuchyan was a judge on Depi Evratesil. This TV show helped choose Armenia's singer for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.
In 2017, Mukuchyan and Aram Mp3 released the song "Dashterov". It won a Song of the Year Award. This song was part of a bigger project called the Dashterov Project. This project later won the Collaboration of the Year award. Iveta then released her own solo album, Armenian Folk, on 3 October 2017. She also starred in the film The Path of Our Dream that year. At the 2018 Swallow Music Awards, Iveta was named Best Female Singer of the Year. In 2020, she received an award at the Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards (DIAFA) in Dubai. In December 2022, she hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan.

Early Life and Education
Iveta Mukuchyan was born on 14 October 1986 in Yerevan, Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic. Her parents are Ruben Mukuchyan and Susanna Ambaryan. In 1992, her family moved to Germany. They returned to Armenia in 1995 but moved back to Germany later.
From 1998 to 2006, Iveta attended the Catholic Sankt-Ansgar-Schule in Hamburg. She also worked part-time as a waitress. While in Hamburg, Iveta joined a music club. She sang Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" at a school event. After hearing her, her parents believed she should become a singer. She later studied at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory in Armenia. Her sister, Marianna, is a fashion stylist.
Music Career Highlights
Starting Out: Hay Superstar and The Voice
In 2009, Iveta Mukuchyan tried out for Hay Superstar. This show is like the Armenian version of Pop Idol. She finished in fifth place. She won the Discovery of the Year award at the Armenia Awards in Moscow. In 2010, she was featured on a French song called "L'amour n'a pas de loi."
The next year, she appeared on Parahandes, which is like the British show Strictly Come Dancing. She was eliminated before the semifinals. That same year, she placed third in a German singing contest called The Voice of Hamburg. In 2012, she joined The Voice of Germany. She sang Loreen's "Euphoria" for her audition. Singer Xavier Naidoo chose her for his team. Iveta was the winning contestant from Naidoo's team in the second round.
Eurovision Song Contest Experience
In October 2015, Iveta released her single "Simple Like a Flower." It came with a music video. The same month, Armenian Public Television announced she would represent Armenia. This was for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. Her song, "LoveWave", was chosen in February 2016. Iveta helped write the lyrics for the song.
She premiered the song and its music video in March 2016. During the Eurovision season, Iveta shared updates through Eurovision Diary. This was a special TV program for Armenian Eurovision singers. On 3 April 2016, she promoted "LoveWave" at a concert in Moscow. She changed some of the song's lyrics due to ongoing events. She also canceled her participation in another event to show her support for peace.
During the first Eurovision semifinal in May 2016, Iveta held a flag. This caused some discussion and upset. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) said it was against their rules for political messages. Iveta explained that her thoughts were with her home country. She said she wanted peace everywhere.
"LoveWave" finished seventh at Eurovision, earning 249 points. Iveta also won titles like Eurovision's Next Top Model. She was also named Best Female Solo Vocalist of Eurovision 2016. Besides music, she acted with Mkrtich Arzumanyan in the comedy film Run Away or Get Married (2016). She also recorded the movie's soundtrack.
New Music and Collaborations
After Eurovision, Iveta appeared on many Armenian TV shows. In June 2016, she attended a music festival in Barcelona. She was a guest singer at the Armenian Street Festival in London in July 2016. There, she performed with a duduk player. In September, she held a solo concert for a bank's advertising campaign.
On 19 November 2016, she was named Armenia's entertainment ambassador. This was at an awards show in Los Angeles. She performed "LoveWave" and a new song, "Amena." "Amena" is about women's strength and struggles. Its music video was released in April 2017. Iveta was also a judge on Depi Evratesil. Her final contestant finished fifth in the competition.
Iveta released her first extended play, IvaVerse, on 25 December 2016. It features a mix of styles like funk and R&B. She promoted it at a shopping mall. In January 2017, she was on the cover of Oriflame magazine. Iveta and Aram Mp3 released "Dashterov" in February. It won a Song of the Year award.

Recent Activities
In January 2018, Iveta was a judge for national finals. These shows chose singers for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. She also announced a new song, "Siraharvel Em Qez," which was released on 1 February. In February, she started a big music project in South Africa. It was later called "The Journey of a Woman."
Throughout the year, Iveta had solo concerts in Dubai. She also performed at the 2018 Swallow Music Awards. She won Best Female Singer of the Year. On 1 April, she gave a concert with her band. She sang songs from the Dashterov project and her new singles. On Motherhood and Beauty Day, she was a special guest at a mall event. She also appeared on a comedy show.
During the 2018 Armenian protests, Iveta supported peaceful gatherings. She performed "Hayastan Jan" in Republic Square, Yerevan. She also gave a concert with other singers. On Europe Day, she performed an open-air concert. In the summer, Iveta released a song called "Mets Khagh." It was a collaboration with producer Narek Mets Hayq. In October 2020, Iveta hosted an online music event called Rock for Artsakh. It featured Armenian and foreign artists. The goal was to raise awareness and funds for Artsakh. She also asked her fans to donate to help soldiers' families instead of buying her birthday gifts. In early November, she was part of a charity single for Artsakh. It was called "Mez Vochinch Chi Haghti" (Nothing Will Win Us). She sang with other artists like Arthur Khachents and Srbuk.
In the same month, Iveta performed "Nevagivup" (English version of "1% Ser"). She received an award at the 2020 Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards (DIAFA) in Dubai. She dedicated her award to Armenian soldiers.
In 2021, Iveta Mukuchyan became a judge on AMPTV's The Masked Singer. In December 2022, she hosted the 20th Junior Eurovision Song Contest. She hosted it with Garik Papoyan and Karina Ignatyan in Yerevan, Armenia.
