Starting as a Professional Boxer
Jaime Munguía began his professional boxing career in 2013. He quickly built an impressive record, winning many fights without any losses. This showed everyone that he was a talented and strong boxer.
Winning His First World Title
On May 12, 2018, Jaime Munguía got a big chance. He fought against an American boxer named Sadam Ali for the WBO junior middleweight title. Munguía won the fight, becoming a world champion!
Defending His Title: Early Fights
After winning his first title, Munguía had to defend it against other strong boxers.
- Munguía vs. Smith: In July 2018, he faced Liam Smith. Munguía won this fight by a clear decision from the judges. He even knocked Smith down during the fight.
- Munguía vs. Cook: In September 2018, Munguía won against Brandon Cook. He won by a technical knockout in the third round, which means the referee stopped the fight because Cook couldn't continue safely.

- Munguía vs. Johnson: In October 2020, Munguía fought Tureano Johnson. Munguía won when the doctor stopped the fight in the sixth round because Johnson had a bad cut. After this win, Munguía said he wanted to fight for a world title in the middleweight division.
