Kumar Sanu (born 23 September 1957) is an Indian singer. He was born in Kolkata, India. He has won five Filmfare Awards (five awards in a row from 1990 to 1995) in 2009 he was awarded Padma Shree (forth highest civilian award) by the Government of India.
Sanu notably holds the Guinness World Record for most songs recorded by a singer in 24 hours with 28.
He started his music career in 1984. His first breakthrough came six years later when he was given chance to do playback singing for the movie Aashiqui by Nadeem-Shravan. The movie made his and also music directors career in Bollywood. He often worked with Nadeem-Shravan.
