Power Rangers Zeo is an exciting superhero TV series. It is the fourth season of the Power Rangers story. This show is based on a Japanese series called Chouriki Sentai Ohranger. Power Rangers Zeo continues the adventures from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and first aired in 1996.
This season was the first time the Power Rangers changed their suits every year, just like the Japanese Super Sentai shows.
Story of Power Rangers Zeo
After their old base, the Command Center, is destroyed, the Rangers find the powerful Zeo Crystal. It leads them to a secret underground place called the Power Chamber. There, they meet Zordon and Alpha 5. The former Mighty Morphin Power Rangers become the new Zeo Rangers, getting their powers from the Zeo Crystal.
- Tommy Oliver becomes Zeo Ranger V – Red.
- Adam Park becomes Zeo Ranger IV – Green.
- Rocky DeSantos becomes Zeo Ranger III – Blue.
- Katherine Hillard becomes Zeo Ranger I – Pink.
- Tanya Sloan joins the team as Zeo Ranger II – Yellow.
- Billy Cranston decides to help the team as their technical expert instead of being a Ranger.
A new enemy, the Machine Empire, arrives to conquer Earth. They are led by King Mondo and Queen Machina. Even Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd have to run away from them! Meanwhile, Goldar and Rito Revolto lose their memories and become butlers for Bulk and Skull. Bulk and Skull also start a detective agency with Lt. Jerome Stone.
The Mysterious Gold Ranger
As the Machine Empire gets stronger, a new hero appears: the mysterious Gold Ranger. His identity is a secret at first, but he helps the Zeo Rangers. Later, it's revealed he is an alien named Trey of Triforia. Trey needs to heal, so he passes his powers to a worthy warrior. They try to give the powers to Billy, but it doesn't work.
Finally, the powers go to Jason Lee Scott, the original Red Power Ranger! With Jason as the Gold Ranger, the team gets even stronger Zords called the Super Zeo Zords. These new Zords help them defeat King Mondo, leaving the Machine Empire without a leader for a while.
Rita and Zedd's Return
Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa secretly return from space. They restore Goldar and Rito's memories and try to take over the Machine Empire using a robot named Louie Kaboom. Louie Kaboom breaks free from their control and tries to conquer Earth himself. But then, King Mondo's son, Prince Gasket, and his wife, Princess Archerina, take over until King Mondo is rebuilt.
Billy starts aging very quickly because of a past spell. The Zeo Rangers and the Alien Rangers from Aquitar work together to help him. Billy eventually leaves Earth to get treatment on Aquitar and stays there. Soon after, Jason starts losing his Gold Ranger powers because they weren't meant for a human. Trey of Triforia heals and gets his powers back. In the end, Rita and Lord Zedd get their revenge on the Machine Empire by setting a trap that blows up their leaders.
