Malawi is a country in southeastern Africa. It has sent its athletes to compete in the Summer Olympic Games eight times. The Olympics are a huge international sports event where athletes from all over the world compete. Malawi has never taken part in the Winter Olympic Games, which are for sports like skiing and ice skating.

Malawi did not send athletes to the Summer Olympics in 1976 and 1980. They returned to the Games in 1984.
