Starting Out: Popstars
In 2001, while still at Thornhill College, Nadine tried out for the Irish TV show Popstars. She won a spot in a band called Six. However, it was found out that she was only 16. The show required contestants to be at least 18. So, she had to leave the band and went back to school.
Joining Girls Aloud: 2002–2009
After Popstars, Nadine was encouraged to try out for Popstars: The Rivals. This was a British TV show that aimed to create a new boy band and a new girl group. The groups would then compete for the Christmas number one song in the UK.
Nadine was chosen as one of the ten girl finalists. She impressed the judges with her singing. On November 30, 2002, Nadine joined Cheryl Tweedy, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh. Together, they formed the group Girls Aloud.
Their first song, "Sound of the Underground", quickly reached number one. It became the Christmas number one song in 2002. Girls Aloud set a record for how fast a group could go from forming to having a number one hit.
The group released their first album, Sound of the Underground, in 2003. It was very popular and sold many copies. They had more number one songs like "I'll Stand by You" and "The Promise". Two of their albums also reached number one on the UK charts.

The group became one of the most successful acts to come from a reality TV show. They were even listed in the Guinness World Records as the "Most Successful Reality TV Group". They also became the UK's best-selling girl group of the 21st century.
Solo Music and Girls Aloud Reunion: 2009–2013
In 2009, Girls Aloud decided to take a break. This allowed the members to work on their own projects. Nadine Coyle planned to release a solo album. She worked with many famous songwriters and producers.
Her first solo song, "Insatiable", came out before the album. It had an "80s feel" and a guitar sound. The song reached number 26 on the UK charts.
In November 2012, Girls Aloud got back together to celebrate their tenth anniversary. They released a new song called "Something New". This song also helped raise money for Children in Need. The group released another album of their greatest hits, Ten. They then went on a tour called Ten: The Hits Tour. After the tour ended in March 2013, the group announced they were splitting up.

Personal Life

On August 15, 2013, Nadine announced she was expecting a child. She also confirmed she was back with her ex-fiancé, Jason Bell, who is her daughter's father. Their daughter, Anaíya Bell, was born on February 10, 2014.
In 2015, after nine years, Nadine closed her restaurant and moved back to Northern Ireland. She wanted to raise her daughter there. She said the restaurant business was too much for her family. She also missed Northern Ireland.
Nadine and Jason Bell separated in 2019. This was because they lived far apart. However, by 2021, they were living together in Northern Ireland. This allowed them to co-parent Anaíya during the COVID-19 pandemic.
