Many of Kent County's historic listings are old houses and buildings. These places often show us how people lived, worked, and built things in different time periods.

  • Allee House: This historic house is located off Delaware Route 9 in Dutch Neck Crossroads. It was added to the list in 1971.
  • Aspendale: Found about a mile west of Kenton on Delaware Route 300, Aspendale was recognized in 1970.
  • Bank House: Located at 119 North Walnut Street in Milford, this house became historic in 1978.
  • Bannister Hall and Baynard House: South of Smyrna, off Delaware Route 300, these buildings were listed in 1973.
  • Barratt Hall: This hall is south of Frederica, off Road 372, and was added to the list in 1973.
  • Belmont Hall: You can find Belmont Hall at 217 Smyrna-Leipsic Road in Smyrna. It was listed in 1971.
  • J. F. Betz House: This house is on Delaware Route 6 in Kenton and was listed in 1983.
  • Benjamin Blackiston House: Located off Delaware Route 6 near Kenton, this house was added in 1983.
  • Bonwell House: About 4 miles west of Frederica on Road 380, the Bonwell House was listed in 1973.

  • Great Geneva: About 3 miles south of Dover on Road 356, Great Geneva was recognized in 1973.
  • Green Mansion House: On Main Street in Kenton, this mansion was listed in 1983.
  • Greenwold: Located at 625 South State Street in Dover, Greenwold was added in 1973.
  • Robert Hill House: On Delaware Route 6 in Kenton, this house was listed in 1983 but was later taken down.

  • Scene of Cheyney Clow's Rebellion: West of Kenton on Delaware Route 300, this site was added in 1974.
  • Clayton Railroad Station: On Bassett Street in Clayton, this station was listed in 1986.
  • Coombe Historic District: West of Felton on Delaware Route 12 and Road 281, this district was recognized in 1982.
  • Delaware Boundary Markers: These markers are along the state lines with Maryland and Pennsylvania. They were listed in 1975 because they are important historical markers.

  • Wyoming Railroad Station: At 1 North Railroad Avenue in Wyoming, this station was added in 1980.

Former Listing: A Place No Longer on the List

Sometimes, a historic place might be removed from the National Register. This can happen if the building is destroyed or if it loses its historic importance.

  • Governor John Cook House: This house was south of Smyrna and was listed in 1983. It was the birthplace of former Delaware Governor John Cook. However, it was removed from the list in 1986.
