Niger is a country in West Africa. It has been part of the exciting Summer Olympic Games since 1964. The Olympics are a huge international sports event where athletes from all over the world compete. Niger has sent its athletes to almost every Summer Olympics since then, only missing the games in 1976 and 1980.

Even though many athletes from Niger have competed, the country has won only two Olympic medals so far. The first medal was a bronze, won by Issaka Daborg in light welterweight boxing at the 1972 Summer Olympics. The second medal was a silver, won by Abdoul Razak Issoufou in men's +80 kg taekwondo at the 2016 Summer Olympics. No athletes from Niger have ever competed in the Winter Olympic Games.
