Nippletop is a mountain located in Essex County, New York, in the United States. It is part of the Colvin Range and is known for its beautiful views. Nippletop is one of the famous Adirondack High Peaks, standing tall at 1,405 meters (4,610 feet) above sea level. It is the 13th highest peak in this group.

Where the Water Flows

Water from Nippletop Mountain flows in different directions, eventually reaching large bodies of water.

West Side Water

Water from the west side of Nippletop flows into the West Inlet of Elk Lake. From there, it travels into a part of the Schroon River, then into the Hudson River. Finally, this water reaches New York Bay.

South and East Side Water

The south and east sides of Nippletop also send their water into the East Inlet of Elk Lake. This water then follows a similar path to the Hudson River.

Northeast Side Water

On the northeast side, water from Nippletop flows into the North Fork of the Boquet River. This river then empties into Lake Champlain. From Lake Champlain, the water travels north into Canada through the Richelieu River and the Saint Lawrence River, eventually reaching the Gulf of Saint Lawrence.

Northwest Side Water

Water from the northwest side of Nippletop drains into Gill Brook. This brook then joins the East Branch of the Ausable River. The Ausable River also flows into Lake Champlain.
