Peseux was once a town (called a municipality) in Switzerland. It was located in the Boudry district, within the canton of Neuchâtel. On January 1, 2021, Peseux joined with two other towns, Corcelles-Cormondrèche and Valangin. They all became part of the larger city of Neuchâtel.

The History of Peseux
Peseux is a very old place! It was first written about in documents from the year 1195. Back then, it was called apud Pusoz. Later, in 1278, its name appeared as de Posoys.
Where is Peseux Located?
Peseux covers an area of about 3.4 square kilometers (1.3 square miles). Most of this land, about 70%, is covered by forests. About 27% of the land has buildings or roads. Only a small part, less than 3%, is used for farming.
The town is located close to the city of Neuchâtel. It sits on the road that leads into a valley called Val-de-Travers. The forests at the lower end of the Val-de-Ruz valley cover about two-thirds of the area that used to be Peseux.
Peseux's Coat of Arms
The official symbol, or coat of arms, of Peseux is quite unique. It shows a design split into two parts: the top part is gold, and the bottom part is blue. Across the middle, there is a silver bar with a black rifle on it.

- Louis Zutter (1865–1946) was a Swiss gymnast. He competed in the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, which were held in Athens. He lived in Peseux.
- Monique Laederach (1938–2004) was a Swiss writer and translator. She was a member of a famous writing group called Gruppe Olten. She passed away in Peseux.
