Randy “Boom Boom” Blake, born on November 25, 1986, is an American kickboxer. He competes in the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. He is known for his amazing speed and powerful kicks. Randy started learning karate when he was seven years old. Later, he switched to kickboxing.

He first became known in the World Combat League. Then, he won and held onto the Xtreme Fighting League's Light Heavyweight Kickboxing Championship many times. In 2012, Blake won the ISKA World Heavyweight Muay Thai title. After that, he competed in big kickboxing events like K-1 and Glory.

Randy's Early Life and Training

Randy Blake moved with his family when he was young. They went from Cleveland, Ohio, to Owasso, Oklahoma. A movie called Bloodsport inspired him. He started karate training at age seven.

In 2003, at 16, he earned his black belt. His teacher was Dale Cook, a former world kickboxing champion. Randy is now a fourth-degree black belt. He also played basketball for Tulsa Community College.

Randy's Kickboxing Career

Starting Out (2007–2012)

Randy Blake began fighting as an amateur kickboxer in 2007. He first got noticed while fighting for the Oklahoma Destroyers. This was during the 2007–08 season of the World Combat League. He fought in the -88 kg (195 lb) division.

His first fight was against Freddie Espiricueta. Randy won by stopping his opponent with two quick spinning back kicks to the body. This impressive win earned him the nickname "Boom Boom."

After his time in the WCL, Blake became a regular fighter in the Xtreme Fighting League. This league is based in Oklahoma. There, he won the XFL Light Heavyweight (-93 kg/205 lb) Kickboxing Championship. He defended this title many times.

Randy had an amazing record of 20 wins and no losses as a professional. This led to a chance to fight for the ISKA World Heavyweight (-96.4 kg/212 lb) Muay Thai Championship. The fight was on June 21, 2012, in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. His opponent was Mike Sheppard, who had beaten him before in the WCL.

During their championship fight, Blake used clinch moves to control Sheppard's head. He landed many knees, which caused a cut on Sheppard's face. The referee stopped the fight in the fifth round. Randy Blake became the new champion!

Fighting in K-1 (2012)

After winning his world title, Randy Blake joined K-1. This was one of the biggest kickboxing organizations in the world. His first fight for K-1 was on September 8, 2012. He was the main event at the K-1 World Grand Prix 2012 in Los Angeles.

He fought against the experienced fighter Dewey Cooper. The winner would get a spot in the 2012 K-1 World Grand Prix. Randy won by unanimous decision after three rounds. This meant he moved on to the K-1 World Grand Prix 2012 in Tokyo final 16 on October 14, 2012.

In Tokyo, he was matched against Mirko Cro Cop, who later became the champion. Randy was given a standing eight count in the second round. He said it was a low blow from a Cro Cop front kick. In the third round, Randy scored a controversial knockdown. Cro Cop slipped and tried to apologize, but Blake hit him. Even with that, Randy couldn't hurt Cro Cop much. He lost the fight by majority decision. This was Randy's first loss in his career.

Less than a month later, Randy bounced back. On November 16, 2012, he fought Deutsch Pu'u at Xtreme Fight Night 10 in Tulsa. Randy knocked him out with a high kick in the third round.

Competing in Glory (2013–2014)

On February 1, 2013, Blake entered an eight-man tournament. This was part of the "Road to Glory" series. These tournaments helped fighters qualify for the Glory promotion. Randy was expected to win, but he was upset in the quarter-finals. He lost to Dustin Jacoby, a mixed martial artist. In the third round, Jacoby landed a punch that hurt Randy. The referee then stopped the fight.

Randy was supposed to fight Manuel Quezada on April 12, 2013. But Quezada was replaced by Jason Broom. Randy beat Broom by technical knockout in the second round.

Even though he lost in the "Road to Glory" tournament, Blake still got a chance to fight in Glory. His first Glory fight was on June 22, 2013, at Glory 9: New York. He fought Koichi in a reserve match. Randy trained for six weeks in the Netherlands before this fight. He defeated his Japanese opponent by unanimous decision.

In his next Glory fight, Randy lost to Brian Collette. This was by unanimous decision at Glory 10: Los Angeles on September 28, 2013.

After these Glory fights, Randy returned to the XFL promotion in Oklahoma. He won three fights in a row. He beat Roy Boughton, Wayman Carter, and Joe Yager between November 2013 and January 2014.

Randy returned to Glory on April 12, 2014. He replaced an injured fighter to face Mourad Bouzidi at Glory 15: Istanbul in Istanbul, Turkey. Randy trained with the Blackzilians in Boca Raton, Florida. His sparring partners included famous fighters like Anthony Johnson. Randy lost to Bouzidi by unanimous decision. He also lost two points during the match for holding too much.

On November 7, 2014, Blake defeated Warren Thompson. He won by unanimous decision at Glory 18: Oklahoma.

Later Career (2015–Present)

Since 2015, Randy Blake has continued to defend his XFL title. He has successfully fought against many opponents. These include Lucas Overcast, Brian McVea, Tony Lopez, Aundre Groce, Zach Gerullis, Demoreo Dennis, and Evan Nedd.
