Rusty Anderson is an American musician. He is best known as the lead guitarist for Paul McCartney's touring band. He has played with McCartney since 2001. Rusty has also worked with many other famous artists. He also has his own solo music career.

Rusty Anderson's Music Journey

Rusty Anderson started playing music professionally when he was 14. His first band was called Eulogy. They became very popular in Los Angeles. Eulogy played shows with big bands like The Police and Van Halen.

Later, Rusty formed a band called The Living Daylights. This was his first band where he wrote most of the songs. The Living Daylights released a record. After that, Rusty signed a solo deal with Columbia Records.

Ednaswap and a Hit Song

In 1993, Rusty helped form the band Ednaswap. They played with bands like Sublime and Social Distortion. Ednaswap also toured with No Doubt and Weezer.

The band released four albums. They wrote a song called "Torn". This song became a number one hit around the world!

Solo Music and Famous Friends

For his first solo album, Rusty invited Paul McCartney to play bass. The rest of McCartney's band sang backup vocals on one song. Rusty's friend Stewart Copeland also played drums on another song.

In 2001, Rusty Anderson got a call to play guitar and sing on Paul McCartney's album Driving Rain. This was the start of McCartney's amazing band. Many people say this band is one of the best.

After making the album, the band started the Driving World Tour in 2002. They played over 100 shows in the US, Japan, and Mexico. This tour was named the Top Tour of 2002 by Billboard magazine. They also played at famous places like the Roman Colosseum and Red Square in Moscow.

Rusty also played with Paul McCartney at the Super Bowl twice, in 2002 and 2005. He played guitar on McCartney's albums Chaos and Creation in the Backyard (2005) and Memory Almost Full (2007).

The band performed at the White House for President Barack Obama in 2010. In 2012, they played at the Olympics opening ceremony and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert.

Rusty played guitar and sang backup on McCartney's 2013 album New. He also toured with McCartney on the Out There tour from 2013 to 2015. Critics praised Rusty's guitar playing during these tours.
