Sevgein was a small town, also known as a municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Graubünden area, which is one of Switzerland's cantons (like a state or province). Sevgein was part of the Surselva district.
On January 1, 2014, Sevgein joined with several other towns. These towns included Castrisch, Ilanz, Ladir, Luven, Pitasch, Riein, Ruschein, Schnaus, Duvin, Pigniu, Rueun, and Siat. Together, they formed a new, larger municipality called Ilanz/Glion.

History of Sevgein
Sevgein is a very old place. It was first mentioned in writings around the year 840. Back then, it was known by the name Soviene.
Until 1943, Sevgein had a different German name. It was called Seewis im Oberland.
Geography of Sevgein
Sevgein covered an area of about 4.6 square kilometers (about 1.77 square miles).
Most of this land was used for farming. About 39.6% was farmland. A large part, 51.5%, was covered by forests.
Some of the land, about 5.2%, had buildings or roads. The remaining 3.7% was made up of rivers, glaciers, or mountains. This land was not used for farming or building.
The town was located on a flat area, like a terrace. This terrace was on the southern side of the Vorderrhein valley. Sevgein included the main village and a smaller settlement called Isla, which was near Ilanz.

In 2011, Sevgein had a population of 198 people. A small number of these people, about 1.4%, were from other countries in 2008.
