Early Life and Discovery
Sigrid Agren grew up in Martinique, a French island. Her father was Swedish, and her mother was French. When she was a teenager, Sigrid entered the Elite Model Look competition in France. She won the French part of the competition, which meant she got to go to the international finals in Shanghai. In Shanghai, she competed against other young models but lost to another French finalist named Charlotte Di Calypso.
Becoming a Top Model
Beginning Her Career
After the Elite Model Look competition, Sigrid signed with Elite Model Management in Paris. She did a few small modeling jobs. However, she decided to take a break from modeling in 2007 to finish her education.
Returning to the Runway
Sigrid returned to the modeling world in 2008. She signed with New York Model Management. She also re-signed with Elite Models in major fashion cities around the world. Her first big runway appearance was closing the Prada Resort show.
For her first New York Fashion Week, she walked for famous designers. These included Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, and Rodarte. She also opened shows for Shiatzy Chen, Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerfeld, and Alexander McQueen. She closed shows for Prada, Costume National, and Louis Vuitton.

For the Spring/Summer 2009 fashion season, Sigrid became a main model for Prada. She shared this role with Giedre Dukauskaite and Anna Jagodzińska. She also became the face of Armani Jeans and Nicole Farhi.
Sigrid has appeared in many fashion magazines. These include Vogue Paris, Harper's Bazaar, and Numéro. She was also on one of three covers for i-D magazine's June/July issue. The other cover models were Tasha Tilberg and Raquel Zimmermann.
Walking for Major Designers
For the Fall/Winter 2009 season, Sigrid walked in 68 international fashion shows. She modeled for top designers like Armani, Chanel, Versace, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, Jil Sander, and Christian Dior.
She also appeared in shows for Valentino, Alberta Ferretti, Karl Lagerfeld, Pucci, Diane von Fürstenberg, Costume National, Marni, Ruffian, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Antonio Berardi, and Max Azria. She even opened and closed the show for Chloé.
Sigrid became the face of Stella McCartney, taking over from Kate Moss. She also modeled for Chloé alongside Kasia Struss and Karlie Kloss. She was featured in campaigns for Ck Calvin Klein with Jourdan Dunn, and Bottega Veneta with Anna Jagodzińska.
Achieving Top Ranks
During 2009, Sigrid was ranked among the top models in the world. She was No. 10 on the Top 50 models-Women list. She is also listed in the "Industry Icons" and "Money Girls" categories on models.com, which recognizes the most successful models.
