Soledad "La Sole" Pastorutti (born October 12, 1980) is a famous Argentine folk singer. She helped make folk music popular with younger people in the late 1900s and early 2000s.

Soledad is also an actress in movies and on TV. She is the older sister of another Argentine singer, Natalia Pastorutti.

Her first album, Poncho al Viento, sold more copies than any other Sony Music album in Argentina. This was shared by Alberto Caldero, who was the president of Sony Music back then.

Soledad's Amazing Career

Early Success and "Arequito's Hurricane"

In 1995, when Soledad was just 15 years old, a musician named César Isella helped her. He invited her to perform at the Cosquín folklore festival. Her performance with her sister Natalia was so good that Sony Music Argentina offered her a contract. She recorded her first album, Poncho al Viento, that same year.

After singing in over 181 towns and cities in Argentina, Soledad became famous across the whole country. By the time her second album came out, her first album was a huge hit. She was so successful that people called her 'Huracan de Arequito' (Arequito's Hurricane).

In 1997, she recorded her second album, La Sole. She performed many concerts for this album, including 10 shows at the Teatro Gran Rex in Buenos Aires. During that year, both of her albums reached the number one spot on the music charts many times.

Growing Fame and New Adventures

Soledad's success continued to grow in 1998. She performed more concerts at the Teatro Gran Rex. She also joined the Argentina national football team for the 1998 FIFA World Cup. In Madrid, Spain, she received a special award from Sony International. This was for selling one million copies of her first two albums.

When she returned, Sony Music Argentina recognized her as their best-selling artist across all music types. They released her third album, A mi gente, which was recorded live during her concerts. For the first time, folk music was played a lot on radios and in clubs.

In 1999, Soledad starred in a movie called Edad del Sol ("Age of the Sun"). She also recorded her fourth album, Yo sí Quiero a mi país ("I Love My Country"). This album was made in studios in Miami and produced by Cuban musician Emilio Estefan. The album helped her reach new fans in countries like Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Peru, Mexico, the United States, and Spain. She went on tour in these places.

The movie Edad del Sol was a big production for Argentine cinema. However, it was not as successful as expected. An animated film called Manuelita became much more popular at the box office.

International Performances and TV Debut

In 2000, after two years, Soledad returned to Buenos Aires for three concerts at the famous Luna Park. In August, she performed at the Martigues Folklore Festival in France, where she received great reviews. Back in Argentina, she started recording her fifth album, which came out in October. Before its release, she performed at the Barbican Centre in London during an Argentine film and music festival. Soledad also performed at the 2000 Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Chile. This is considered the most important music festival in Latin America. She won the Audience Prize there.

Her sixth album was recorded in 2001. It was produced by Alejandro Lerner and Fernando Isella and had a fresh new style. She had more concerts at the Gran Rex. She also received the "Silver Torch" award at the Viña del Mar Festival again. Soledad made her TV acting debut in the telenovela (soap opera) Rincón de Luz in 2003.

Soledad has also been a vocal coach for the Argentine version of The Voice. In recent years, she was a judge on Telefe's singing show Rising Star. Since 2008, she has hosted the popular music show Ecos de mi tierra ("Echoes of My Land").

Later, she was invited to perform at the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater. She returned to Santiago, Chile, and sold out shows at the Teatro Nescafe and Dreams in Viña del Mar. In June, her career reached a new high. The American TV network ABC hired her to sing "Don't Cry for Me Argentina." This was for one of their popular reality shows, "The Bachelorette."
