Tales of Arcadia is a cool series of three computer-animated TV shows made for Netflix. The famous director Guillermo del Toro created them. DreamWorks Animation helped make these shows.
The story is about the town of Arcadia Oaks. This normal-looking town is secretly home to many amazing creatures. Young heroes live there too. They fight against evil forces hiding in the shadows.
The three main shows are Trollhunters, 3Below, and Wizards. They were released all over the world.
People really love the Tales of Arcadia series. Many say it's a very creative and exciting animated show. One reviewer even called Trollhunters the best kids' animation since Avatar: The Last Airbender.
The series has won many awards. Trollhunters was nominated for nine Daytime Emmy Awards in 2017. It won more awards than any other animated show that year! The whole series has also been nominated for or won BAFTA Awards, Annie Awards, and Saturn Awards. It won the Kidscreen Award for "Best New Series" twice.
Critics praise the show for its awesome computer animation. They also like its deep stories, great voice acting, and how it shows different cultures. The music and characters are also very popular.
Besides the TV shows, there are also books and graphic novels. Dark Horse Comics released graphic novels based on the series. There's also a video game called Trollhunters: Defenders of Arcadia. You can play it on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
In 2020, it was announced that the story would end with a movie. The film is called Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans. It was released on Netflix on July 21, 2021.

How the Series Was Made
Guillermo del Toro first thought of Trollhunters as a live-action TV show. But it would have cost too much money to make. So, he turned the idea into a book instead. He wrote the book with Daniel Kraus.
Later, DreamWorks Animation decided to make the book into an animated movie. But then Netflix decided to make it a computer-animated TV series. Marc Guggenheim helped write the first ideas for the show.
Many talented people worked on the series. This includes writers like Dan and Kevin Hageman, Aaron Waltke, and AC Bradley. The shows were made from 2014 until 2021.
Famous actors lent their voices to the characters. These include Anton Yelchin, Emile Hirsch, Mark Hamill, Kelsey Grammer, Ron Perlman, Glenn Close, and Lena Headey. Other stars like Diego Luna, Nick Frost, and Alfred Molina also voiced characters.
In 2017, del Toro announced that Trollhunters would be part of a bigger story. This new story would be called Tales of Arcadia. It would have two more connected series. These were 3Below and Wizards. They would explore the secret worlds of aliens and wizards. These hidden worlds are all in the same town as Trollhunters.
Sadly, the main voice actor for Jim Lake Jr., Anton Yelchin, passed away. But his voice was still used for some parts of Trollhunters Part 3. Emile Hirsch also took over the role.
Two characters from Trollhunters, Aja and Krel, became the main characters in 3Below. Steve Palchuk and Toby Domzalski were the first characters to appear in all three shows. Later, Douxie Casperan and his friend Archie became main characters in Wizards.
What the Story is About
Setting the Scene
Tales of Arcadia takes place in a small town called Arcadia Oaks. This town is a made-up version of Arcadia, California. It's a secret home for many magical creatures. Young heroes live there too. They fight against evil forces that hide in the shadows.
Main Adventures
In Trollhunters, a boy named Jim Lake Jr. becomes the first human Trollhunter. His job is to protect trolls living in a secret place called Trollmarket. He also protects humans from evil, flesh-eating trolls called Gumm-Gumms. Their leader is the scary warlord, Gunmar.
In 3Below, we meet royal siblings Princess Aja and Prince Krel. They are from an alien planet called Akiridion-5. They have to escape to Earth when an evil general takes over their home.
In Wizards, a wizard-in-training named Douxie Casperan goes on a time-traveling adventure. He travels to medieval Camelot. He must fight against a group called the Arcane Order. His mission is to save Arcadia Oaks and the whole world.
Finally, in Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans, all the heroes must work together. Arcadia is about to face a huge battle. This battle will decide the future of magic and all these supernatural worlds.
