York County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. As of 2020, about 14,125 people live there. The main city and county seat (where the county government is) is York.

History of York County
York County was officially started in 1870. People aren't completely sure how the county got its name. Some say it was named after the city of York in England. Others believe it was named by early settlers who came from York County, Pennsylvania.

The land in York County is mostly rolling prairie, which means it has gentle hills and wide-open spaces. Most of this land is used for farming. The ground slopes down towards the Platte River in the northwest. The county covers a total area of 576 square miles. Most of this (573 square miles) is land, and a small part (3.3 square miles) is water.
