- January 18 – King Albert I of Germany made his son, Rudolf, the new king of Bohemia. This was a way to strengthen his family's power.
- July – The Knights Hospitaller, a group of warrior monks, began their mission to take over the island of Rhodes.
- September 5 – Pope Clement V officially said that the Knights Hospitaller could have Rhodes. At this time, they had only captured one part of the island called Feracle.
- October 13 – All the Knights Templar in France were arrested at the same time by agents of King Phillip the Fair. They were later forced to "admit" to things they might not have done.
- November 18 – (Legendary) – The famous story says that William Tell shot an apple off his son's head with an arrow.
- Edward II became the new King of England.
- Per Abad wrote down the story of the famous Spanish poem, the Cantar de mio Cid.
