Aldis Alexander Basil Hodge (born September 20, 1986) is an American actor. He is famous for playing Alec Hardison in the TV show Leverage. He also played MC Ren in the movie Straight Outta Compton and Levi Jackson in Hidden Figures.
Aldis Hodge has taken on many other exciting roles. He was Noah in the TV series Underground and Matthew in Girlfriends. He played Jim Brown in the film One Night in Miami... and Alex Cross in the Cross series. He is also known for playing the superhero Hawkman in the movie Black Adam. He was also the voice of John Stewart / Green Lantern in the animated film Green Lantern: Beware My Power.

Aldis Hodge's Life and Career
Aldis Hodge was born on September 20, 1986, in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Both of his parents, Aldis Basil Hodge and Yolette Evangeline Richardson, served in the U.S. Marine Corps. His mother is from Florida, and his father is from Saint Thomas. His older brother, Edwin Hodge, is also an actor.
Hobbies and Talents
When he was a child, Aldis played both the clarinet and the violin. He still plays the violin today! He went to the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California. Besides acting, Aldis has many other talents. He designs watches, writes, and paints.
In 2018, he worked with a painter named Harmonia Rosales on a series of paintings. These paintings were called "Through the Looking Glass" and were shown in Los Angeles. Aldis is also a self-taught horologist, which means he studies and makes clocks and watches. He has even designed his own brand of fancy watches called A. Hodge Atelier. He believes it's important to have more different kinds of people working in the watchmaking industry.
Early Acting Roles
In 2007, Aldis Hodge got a big role as Alec Hardison in the TNT series Leverage. For this role, he was nominated for a Saturn Award in 2009. This award is given to actors in science fiction, fantasy, and horror films and TV shows. In 2014, he was cast in a movie called Midnight Rider, which was about the musician Gregg Allman.
Recent Projects
In 2019, Aldis started playing Decourcy Ward in the Showtime TV show City on a Hill. He starred alongside Kevin Bacon in this series. In 2020, it was confirmed that Aldis would play Carter Hall / Hawkman in the 2022 DCEU film Black Adam. He worked with famous actors like Dwayne Johnson and Pierce Brosnan in this movie. In October 2022, it was announced that he would play the main character, Alex Cross, in the Amazon Prime Video series Cross. This show is based on the popular books by James Patterson.
