Alfredo Angulo López, born on August 11, 1982, is a professional boxer from Mexico. He was known for holding the WBO interim light middleweight title from 2009 to 2010. As an amateur, he represented Mexico in the 2004 Olympics. Angulo is often called "El Perro" which means "The Dog." He is famous for his strong, attacking style and powerful punches.

Amateur Boxing Career
Alfredo Angulo had a successful amateur boxing career. He earned a spot in the 2004 Olympics by finishing second in a qualifying tournament in Tijuana, Mexico. At the Olympics, he faced Andy Lee and lost the match. During his amateur days, Angulo also won a fight against Timothy Bradley, who later became a WBO Welterweight champion. Angulo finished his amateur career with a record of 80 wins and 15 losses.
Professional Boxing Journey
Alfredo Angulo started his professional boxing career in Arizona. Many boxing experts believed he would become a World Champion in the Light Middleweight division.
On May 17, 2008, he defeated Richard Gutierrez. This win brought his professional record to 13 wins, with 10 of them by knockout. Later, on October 4, 2008, Angulo fought Andrey Tsurkan. Angulo was very aggressive from the start, throwing many punches. He won the fight in the 11th round when the referee stopped the match.
Angulo was supposed to fight Ricardo Mayorga in February 2009. However, Mayorga pulled out of the fight. Angulo then fought Cosme Rivera instead and won by technical knockout in the fifth round.
Becoming a WBO Interim Champion
In November 2009, Angulo won the interim WBO light middleweight title. He defeated Harry Joe Yorgey, who had been undefeated until then. Angulo knocked Yorgey down in the second round and finished the fight in the third round with a powerful right hand.
First Title Defense
On April 24, 2010, Angulo defended his WBO interim title against Joel Julio. Angulo won by knockout in the 11th round. He was more aggressive than Julio, constantly attacking and landing combinations. This was his third straight knockout win after an earlier loss.
Angulo vs. Alcine
On July 17, 2010, Angulo quickly defeated Joachim Alcine in the first round. Alcine was a former WBA Super Welterweight Champion. With this win, Angulo claimed the vacant WBC Continental Americas Light Middleweight Title.
Later Fights
After a break, Angulo returned to the ring on August 20, 2011. He quickly defeated Joseph Gomez in the first round.
Angulo vs. Mora
On April 7, 2018, Angulo fought Sergio Mora. Angulo lost the fight by a split decision, meaning two judges scored it for Mora, and one for Angulo.
Angulo vs. Bravo
On April 20, 2019, Angulo fought Evert Bravo. Angulo won this fight by knockout in the second round.
Angulo vs. Quillin
On September 21, 2019, Angulo faced Peter Quillin. Even though many thought Quillin would win, Angulo fought very well. He managed to hurt Quillin several times during the fight. Angulo won by split decision, with two judges scoring in his favor.
Angulo vs. Hernandez
On August 29, 2020, Angulo lost to Vladimir Hernandez. This was considered an upset, as Hernandez won by a unanimous decision from all three judges.

Angulo made his bare-knuckle boxing debut on April 27, 2024, at BKFC: Knucklemania IV. He fought Jeremiah Riggs in a middleweight bout. Despite taking some punches early, Angulo came back to win the fight by knockout in the first round. This exciting win earned him the Knockout of the Night award.
On November 9, 2024, Angulo faced Julian Lane at BKFC on DAZN: Montana. He lost this fight by unanimous decision.
