Throughout his career, Watt has produced music for many famous artists. Andrew Watt's Music Journey
Watt grew up in Great Neck, New York. He went to John L. Miller Great Neck North High School and finished in 2008. He also studied music business for a short time at NYU. Watt said that growing up near Manhattan was a great part of his childhood. His first professional jobs were playing guitar for artists like Jared Evan, Cody Simpson, and Justin Bieber.
In 2013, Watt helped start the rock band California Breed. He played guitar alongside famous musicians like Glenn Hughes (from Deep Purple) and Jason Bonham (from Foreigner). In 2015, Watt released his first official music collection, an EP called Ghost In My Head. The main song from it reached No. 30 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith and Queens of the Stone Age's Joey Castillo played drums on this record.
Watt performed before Jane's Addiction in October 2015. He also opened for the Cult in Los Angeles in February 2016. In February 2016, Rolling Stone magazine praised Watt's singing. He sang in a live performance of "L.A. Woman" with Robby Krieger as a tribute to the Doors' Ray Manzarek.
Watt then became even more famous as a music producer. He produced Ozzy Osbourne's album Ordinary Man, which came out on February 21, 2020.
In March 2021, Watt won the Grammy Award for Producer of the Year. He also worked on the tribute album The Metallica Blacklist in September 2021. For this album, he played guitar for Miley Cyrus on her cover of the Metallica song "Nothing Else Matters". In 2022, Consequence magazine named Watt the "Producer of the Year."
Watt produced Eddie Vedder's solo album Earthling in 2022. Starting that same year, Watt became the guitarist for the Earthlings, Vedder's touring band. The Earthlings also include Chad Smith on drums, Chris Chaney on bass, and Josh Klinghoffer on guitar.
Watt produced Iggy Pop's album Every Loser, which was released in January 2023. He also produced and helped write the Rolling Stones' album, Hackney Diamonds, in the same year.
In 2024, Watt produced Pearl Jam's twelfth album, Dark Matter. He joined Pearl Jam on stage during their concert in New York City in September 2024 to play several songs.
