Boudevilliers was once a municipality (like a town or local government area) in the Val-de-Ruz district of Neuchâtel, a canton (or state) in Switzerland. On January 1, 2013, Boudevilliers and many other nearby municipalities joined together. They formed a new, larger municipality called Val-de-Ruz.

Boudevilliers is located in the Val-de-Ruz district. It sits where the roads from Neuchâtel to La Chaux-de-Fonds and from Rochefort to Saint-Imier meet. Besides the main village, Boudevilliers also included smaller areas called hamlets. These were Malvilliers, La Jonchère, and Landeyeux.
