Bulloch County is a special area in the southeastern part of Georgia, USA. It's like a smaller region within the state, with its own local government. In 2020, about 81,099 people lived here. The main city and government center of the county is Statesboro. Bulloch County is also part of a larger area that includes Savannah.
This county was created a long time ago, on February 8, 1796. It was named after Archibald Bulloch. He was an important person from South Carolina who owned a large farm in Georgia. Archibald Bulloch was very active in politics and became the first governor of Georgia in 1776, right before the United States became independent.

Geography of Bulloch County
Bulloch County covers about 689 square miles. Most of this area is land (673 square miles), and a smaller part (16 square miles) is water. The land here is mostly flat because it's in Georgia's coastal plain region. However, some parts in the northwest and center of the county have small hills.
The county is located southwest of the Ogeechee River. You'll find many small rivers, ponds, and swampy areas here. Trees like bald cypress grow in these wet spots. On higher ground, you can see longleaf pine and live oak trees. Many other types of trees that are common in the southeastern United States also grow well here.
Rivers and Waterways
The western part of Bulloch County, including Statesboro, is in the Canoochee River area. This river flows into the larger Ogeechee River. The eastern part of the county is also part of the Lower Ogeechee River area.

Getting around Bulloch County is easy with its many important roads. These highways connect different towns and lead to other parts of Georgia.

Bulloch County is home to a professional soccer team called South Georgia Tormenta FC. They play in a league called USL League One, which is a high level of soccer in the United States. The team started playing in 2016. They currently play their games at Eagle Field. There are plans to build a new stadium for them in the future.
