Ella McMahon (born April 1, 1994), known as Ella Eyre, is a talented English singer and songwriter. She is famous for working with other artists on popular songs.
Ella Eyre is known for her collaborations with the band Rudimental. Their song "Waiting All Night" (2013) became a number-one hit in the UK. This song also won a Brit Award for British Single of the Year. She also worked with DJ Fresh on "Gravity" (2015). Later, she teamed up with Sigala for "Came Here for Love" (2017) and "Just Got Paid" (2018).
Her first collection of songs, an EP called Deeper, came out in 2013. Her first full album, Feline, was released in 2015. Ella Eyre gets inspiration from artists like Lauryn Hill and Etta James.

Early Life and Education
Ella McMahon was born on April 1, 1994, and grew up in Ealing, West London. Her father was Jamaican, and her mother is Maltese. Her mother, a cake designer, raised Ella in London.
Before becoming a singer, Ella Eyre was a competitive swimmer. She went to Millfield School, a private school in Somerset, on a swimming scholarship. She later studied musical theatre at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology.
Ella was discovered by her management in 2011 through a vocal coach. She balanced school with writing songs. In July 2012, she signed a deal with Warner Chappell Music. Soon after, she signed a record deal with Virgin EMI.
Music Career
Early Success and Feline Album
In December 2012, Ella Eyre was featured on a song called "No Angels." This song was a mix of "No Scrubs" by TLC and "Angels" by the xx. It was part of Bastille's 2012 mixtape.
In April 2013, she sang on the drum and bass band Rudimental's single "Waiting All Night." This song reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. It was Ella Eyre's first song to enter the music charts. In August 2013, she appeared on "Think About It" with rapper Wiz Khalifa. This song was from producer Naughty Boy's album Hotel Cabana.
Ella Eyre's first EP, Deeper, was released in December 2013. The main song from the EP reached number 72 on the charts. She was a runner-up for the 2014 BRIT Critics' Choice Award. She also came second on the BBC Sound of 2014 list.
Her next three solo songs were "If I Go", "Comeback" (both 2014), and "Together" (2015). All three songs reached the top twenty on the UK Singles Chart. She also helped write "Changing" for the duo Sigma. This song, featuring Paloma Faith, became a UK number one hit in September 2014. The next month, Ella Eyre won Best Newcomer at the MOBO Awards 2014.
Ella Eyre was featured on the DJ Fresh song "Gravity", released in February 2015. In May 2015, a song she co-wrote, "Black Smoke", was used by Ann Sophie. Ann Sophie was the German singer for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. In mid-2015, Ella Eyre supported Olly Murs on his arena tour. She also became the face of an advertising campaign for Emporio Armani Diamonds perfume.
Her first album, Feline, came out in August 2015. It included the single "Good Times". The album featured work from many talented people like Wayne Hector and Ilya. In September, Ella Eyre released a cover of "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot." This song was for England Rugby to celebrate the 2015 Rugby World Cup. In November, she won Best Female at the MOBO Awards 2015. She then went on a tour across the UK.
Recent Music and New Album
On February 18, 2017, Ella Eyre announced a comeback concert at KOKO in London. At this concert, she performed four new songs. These songs were "LOV(E)", "Drink with Your Name on It", "I Swear", and "Ego".
On May 29, 2017, Ella Eyre and Sigala announced a new song together, "Came Here for Love." It was released on June 9, 2017. On July 31, 2017, Ella Eyre announced her new single 'Ego' featuring Ty Dolla $ign. It was released on August 11, 2017. Ella Eyre supported Little Mix on their Summer Shout Out Tour. She also supported The Script on their "Freedom Child Tour" in early 2018. During these tours, she promoted a new song called "Answerphone."
In February 2018, Ella Eyre was part of The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off. On March 5, 2018, she announced her new single "Answerphone." This song was with Banx & Ranx and featured Yxng Bane. It was released on March 16 and reached number 5 on the UK Chart. On September 7, 2018, Ella Eyre released another song with Sigala called "Just Got Paid." This song featured Meghan Trainor and French Montana and reached number 11 on the UK Chart.
In July 2019, Ella Eyre announced she had signed with Island Records. She then released her new single "Mama" featuring Banx & Ranx and Kiana Ledé.
In January 2020, Ella Eyre released her new single "New Me." She also announced a UK tour for November and December that year. After "New Me," she released "L.O.V.(e)" on May 8, 2020. This song had been performed many times before and was a fan favorite. She then released the singles "Dreams" featuring Yxng Bane and "Careless." In August 2020, she released her EP called "Quarter Life Crisis."
In November 2023, Ella Eyre released "Head in the Ground." This was her first song released independently, meaning without a major record label.
